With the crazy hype for the PS4 and how big of a series Uncharted is, we may be seeing Uncharted 4 as one of the biggest game launches of next gen

pedrof933876d ago

I seriously doubt that a retailer announce this before the company itself.

Still it may inevitable :D

Skips3876d ago (Edited 3876d ago )

The moment they show Uncharted 4 running on PS4...

My god... http://25.media.tumblr.com/...

Naughty Dog are hands down one of the most talented devs in the industry and they definitely set them apart from the competition...

There's a reason why they make Major Nelson foam at the mouth... lol

Vitalogy3876d ago

One thing is certain, if you think ps4 will sell like hot cakes, image if there was a bundle with UC4... heck even if there wasn't a bundle but the game was released at ps4 launch, sony couldn't keep up with the demand even if the entire population of china was working on putting the console together LOL

xHeavYx3876d ago

They should totally make an Uncharted game that takes place in Olympus

Ritsujun3876d ago

It is happening. Greatness awaits.

Sevir3875d ago

Mirrors Edge 2 was outed at retailers before E3 this year... I'm all certain that ND's Hard at work, the team that finished uncharted 3 has been working on A new game since 2011, while the other team started work on the Last Of Us,

Keep in mind, The Last Of Us and Uncharted 3 started development the same time, while U3 had a shorter development cycle.. U3 launched on Nov 1, 2011...

Their announcement is imminent and my guess is VGA13 will be chocked full of Sony centric announcements, I'm betting ND's Next title will be announced there, Stig Asmussen's Title will be announced, and we'll get world premiere gameplay reveal for The Order:1886.

:) ND my body is ready!

abzdine3875d ago

Sony bend will make U4 , you will see.

wishingW3L3876d ago

then let's all pray that is not the case.

Skips3876d ago

I'm hoping for new Syphon Filter for PS4 and/or a Vita spin off of one of Sony's other franchises from Bend.

GinkgoID3876d ago

Nope, they split into two teams when the did TLOU, with the second team continuing next Uncharted.

Thatguy-3103876d ago

Atlantis Baby!! Imagine how gorgeous the place itself will look with next gen hardware!!! Plus I'm pretty sure they learn a thing or two from The Last of Us so maybe we''l see new mechanics. All I know is that after Uncharted is announce a domino affect of AAA announcements will follow.

GarrusVakarian3876d ago

The search for Atlantis would be an AMAZING storyline for an Uncharted game!

christrules00413876d ago

Naughty Dog has 2 teams and they split up just after Uncharted 3 released so there experience won't carry over from The Last of Us. The Last of Us was released by there second team but it's there first team to announce what they are up to next.

Sevir3875d ago

Correction, a second team was formed to start and complete Uncharted 3, The Last of Us is created by the team that made Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Both The Last of Us and U3 started development concurrently, after U2:Among Thieves shipped.

Remember, Sony Delayed Announcing The Last of Us at E32011, and announced it after ND shipped U3 in Nov that year... Spike and Sony Announced TLOU Dec 11th and the game had been in development for a year already.

With the team already completed U3 they've transitioned and began researching the PS4.. Naughtydog's Evan Wells was in the PS4 developer video at the PS4 reveal in Feb so it's all very much confirmed that that his team is well ahead with a PS4 project, work started in probably as early as 2010, as that's when most studios in WWS began corroborating internally as the PS4 took shape.

I can't wait..

kayoss3875d ago

@lukas_Japonicus
Actually it wont be the search for Atlantis. It will be titled "Uncharted 4: The Search for the Clouds".

I reeeeeeeaaaaly want Jak 4, that would blow my mind.

ZodTheRipper3876d ago

No Jak from Naughty Dog please ...they are too talented for a simple platformer. I want memorable, cinematic experiences from them just like from Santa Monica or Quantic Dream ..leave Jak for a smaller studio.

SonyStyled3876d ago (Edited 3876d ago )

ignore whats posted above. clearly hes not a true ND fan. and clearly hes not aware of the world records that J&D brought us.

"The success of the Jak and Daxter series resulted in Guinness World Records awarding the series 7 world records in the Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008. These records include, "First Seamless 3D World in a Console Game", "Most Successful Single Format Platform Series", and "Largest Number of Cutscenes in a Platform Game" for Jak II, in which there are 131 cutscenes, and Jak 3, in which there are 213 cutscenes.
Jak was ranked number 26 on Guinness World Records 50 greatest videogame characters, and 28th in a poll by Game Informer for best character of the decade."

like i said, ignore whats posted above. i as many others would almost literally kill for a ND J&D

Midgus3876d ago

oh my... hope its official some time next year maybe the end

ZodTheRipper3876d ago

Maybe we'll see Uncharted 4 in November and God Of War 4 in March 2015 - same release windows as their previous iterations.

THE-COMMANDER3876d ago

OMG man i seriously can't wait for Naughty Dog's game!!!
And i hope it's Uncharted 4!!

alb18993876d ago

I just finish The Last of Us and ia can tell you that Naughty Dog is the reason number one I will buy a ps4 soon or later.

TBONEJF3876d ago

That does it time to get me a PS4 when it's officially launch!

showtimefolks3876d ago

VGA 2013 for announcement

what else can sony announce at VGA maybe one more exclusive?

xtremeimport3876d ago

I would love for Uncharted to come to Ps4 because I'm a huge fan of the series. Atlantis inspired game could be really fun.

However, seeing what ND was able to do with a completely new IP in The Last of Us has me really excited at the thought of another new fresh idea from them.

This game on PS4....is going to define what it means to be a next generation title...

Irishguy953876d ago

Dammit I hope they make a new ip

Thatguy-3103876d ago

Wouldn't be surprise if they do again. Just look how they handled The Last of Us. Naughty Dog is a big studio plus Sony's biggest Gem.

FlunkinMonkey3876d ago

Their second team who worked on Uncharted 3 is undoubtedly working on Uncharted 4, while in my fantasy world the other team will be working on a new gritty mature sci-fi based IP with music similar to James Horners composition in Aliens.

Jizz. in. my. pants.

GarrusVakarian3876d ago

"new gritty mature sci-fi based IP with music similar to James Horners composition in Aliens.

ZodTheRipper3876d ago

Savage Starlight anyone? :D

hellzsupernova3876d ago

Santa Monica is working on a similar title the guy who wrote battle star galactica is writing the story and said the god of war team has fully moved to that project

nick3093876d ago

I wish they did jak 4 first but this is welcome i love uncharted

rambi803876d ago

the market for platformers is just too small for Naughty Dog to do this. Jak 4 will have to be farmed out to another studio with humbler ambitions and smaller budget.

They tried to make Jak 4 and ended up with the Last of Us. They said it just was not possible given what they wanted to achieve.

D0ffy3875d ago

I think you are right about the shifting of the market for platformers. I would absolutely LOVE a new Jak game though, I've been craving it since I finished Jak 3 all those years ago (and a proper sequel, not like Jak X).

I also wouldn't call the Jak games typical platformers. The first Jak & Daxter, yes, but not Jak 2 and 3. Those games drew big inspiration from open world games, especially GTA. They could expand widely on that concept and they already have a pretty interesting story to build further upon.

That's just my two cents though. I don't get why nick309 is getting so many disagrees, those games are some of my favorite games of all time. And that is by no means an exaggeration.

Almost unbelievably, Days Gone has just turned 5 years old after launching on April 26th, 2019. What's changed in that time?

Such a good game to me. Crazy how different peoples opinions can get.

Crows902h ago(Edited 2h ago)

For me it wasn't that surprising. There was some bad press before. There's also the matter and element of a person's disposition when trying out a certain game. Sometimes you're just not really into the type of game that you're playing so you put it down because you don't like it. Not necessarily because it's a bad game but because you're just not up for something like this. Reviewers have a tough because no matter what they feel like playing they've got to play what's releasing.

I have many times gone back to games that I put down only to thoroughly enjoy them the second time around because either there wasn't another exciting game coming out around the same time or I just had no other games to play and haven't played that type of game in a while. I'm not the type of person that can just play a souls game through all this iterations one after the other without getting burnt out on the formula.

In my opinion this game was great from the start. Some bugs here and there but nothing worse than the most AAA releases during the same time after and before. All I did was wait one week and I had a phenomenal time with the game. No other zombie survival game comes close to how I thoroughly enjoyed this one

-Foxtrot1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Yeah I thought it was pretty decent, it had its flaws but for their first big console single player open world game it's a solid 8/10.

I have never seen an AAA "zombie" game feature as many enemies as the horde sections did, you really had to think about your surroundings and plan carefully.

I feel journalists had an issue with this game from the moment it was announced, they really didn't like the Biker characters and the overall Biker gang theme. If they were anything else I feel it would have had a better chance or at least they'd overlook some of the flaws like they do for certain other open world games. They don't mind waiting weeks or months for a patch knowing its coming but a game that has it Day 1 it's suddenly a big no no? Yeah this was one of those moments that showed you how they cherry pick who to suddenly decide to go harsh on when they want to.

mkis0071h ago

Ill never forget the reviewer who tried to claim the "ride me like you ride your bike" line was anything but a joke...they (sarah and deacon) explicitly call it a joke and the reviewer still misinformed the reader about it as if it was a literal thing.

Michiel198947m ago

the score on metacritic is 71 from journos, its 9 points lower than your review so stop making stuff up. They didn't hate it from the start, they on average just liked it slightly less than you.

-Foxtrot44m ago(Edited 44m ago)

@Michiel1989

I'm not making anything up, they held a grudge against it and made stuff up themselves like mkis007 has just pointed out. That 71 on Metacritic is why it didn't get a sequel.

Anyway how can I make anything up when I didn't even mention metacritic in my original post?

Leeroyw2h ago

Second act of that game far surpassed the first. Which is why people felt it didn't live up to the hype of the trailers. Personally I loved it. But it was a slog to get your bike and weapons up to skill.

Inverno2h ago

Was gonna post a brick wall of text but I'll keep it short. Pardon my French but f**k the media for the hate they gave this game. If you have a PC to play it on you can get it as low as 10 bucks, and if you have a PS then it's a no brainer. Totally worth a play.

phatak2h ago(Edited 1h ago)

I don't even comment here often but had to for this game, I still stand by my opinion that this was one of the top 10 games of the ps4 generation, I preferred days gone over god of war, horizon and last of us 2, the launch version was definitely piss poor and that messed up the reviews for this game, honestly some games deserve a re-review or post patch review as the metacritic score stays forever but the reality is its not even the same game anymore, the ps5 patch is amazing and the pc version which I play on nowadays is one of the best looking games ever, complete shame that we wont get a sequel, god of war got one, horizon got one, last of us got one, spider man got one, ghosts of tshushima about to get one but this game wont get one, sucks to be honest.

Ps3/360 era had some hidden underated games for me it was shadows of the damned, alice madness returns that deserved more sales and a sequel/ higher scores, and similarly for the ps4 era it was days gone, and dying light 1 that deserved much more love, dying light atleast got a sequel, everyone needs to play this game once and judge for themselves, for me its officially the most underrated game of the ps4 era, go play it if you haven't.

andy851h ago

Awesome game. Just bought it for my laptop last week
