Analyst: PS4 Projected to Outsell Xbox 720 2-to-1

The internet has been overloaded with both Xbox 720 and PS4 news in the past few weeks and an online retailer is now weighing in on the competition between the two systems.
CouponCodes4u.com, a leading money saving website in the U.S. is now making the bold prediction that the PlayStation 4 console will outsell the Xbox 720 2-to-1 once they are released. This prediction derived from pre-order searches made on the site.
Searches for the PS4 outnumber those for the Xbox 720 2-to-1. In the last two months, there have been more than 300,000 unique searches for the PS4, in comparison to the 140,000 searches for the Xbox 720 console, according to the site's data.

2-1 is actually a lot, if Sony can do this, I will have to give them ultimate credit. I doubt it would be 2-1 though but I think 1-1.5 or somewhere around there. I would have to see the 720 and other peoples reactions to guess though

Oddly enough this is the first time I've heard of CouponCodes4u. CouponCodes4u is basing this assumption of site searches, so I would take this with a grain of salt tbh.

I believe the PS4 and 720 will be neck and neck when it comes to sales. Obviously in some areas like Japan the PS4 will outsell the 720.

Had it launch the exact same year as the xbox would of ended up Alot worse. All those unprepared games, hardware and online services would of collapse had it not been for sonny being smart enough to delay for a year.You would of ended up with a console disaster worser than rrod.

you fail to remember that by launching earlier, MS also shot themselves in the foot with the whole RRoD debacle, yet still pulled it together...what would have happened if MS decided to wait a year and didnt have the RRoD to tarnish the 360 image for some ppl to this day?

I will be playing all my crossplats on PS4. That said, the 720 will probably launch at a lower price, and you'd have to be really ignorant to believe that wont go a long way toward making it more popular than the PS4.

Well didn't the PS2 sell 155 million units compared to the Xbox at 24 million thats almost 6.5 times as much, but I doubt a console will ever dominate the competition like that again with less exclusives and more muiltplatform games and more competition. I do agree that PS4 will outsell the next Xbox but I think it will be really close, maybe not as close as this current generation, but maybe only difference of 10-15 million more units.

Gaming writer here. Got an email from these clowns the other day and the following passages from the press release should be a good indication to anyone with half a brain these guys are full of sh*t and just want to promote their site:

"In the last two months alone, there have been more than 300,000 unique searches for the PS4, compared to 140,000 searches for the Xbox 720 console." - Kind of a bogus number, especially considering that the PS4 has been announced but the 720 hasn't.

"According to the latest launch rumors, the PS4 console will be announced by the 1st of June and apparently available in October in the US, while the Xbox 720 may be delayed until early 2014 due to reported Blu-Ray licensing problems." I've been covering 720 rumors since August and have heard NOTHING about Blu-Ray licensing. There's been manufacturing issues, allegedly, and some concerns over game development. But nothing about Blu-Ray.

"When the site conducted a flash onsite poll of 1,273 Americans and asked which console they were currently more excited by, 53% of gamers said ‘PS4’ while 47% said Xbox 720. The site conducted the research after discovering an increase of PS4 related searches, for both consoles and games." The translation of 'flash onsite poll' is: people who got sucked into our linkbait site via a search engine voted on a something they probably knew next to nothing about. If website polls were accurate Mitt Romney would be President right now.
