A Criticism of The Coherence Of Bioshock Infinite's Post Credit Sequence And Ending In General

My criticism of Bioshock Infinite's post credit sequence and its ending in general.
I will clarify that I loved this game's story and game as a whole, but I have several problems with the very end of the game and whether or not it makes any sense, and how this problem is solved.

Thank you! In a time in wh ich we want more oit of our games, many bitch because u miss out on some things if u don't listen to conversations or get voxophones. Cmon? I love the ending, how it makes u think and want to replay the game. I have only ever had a handful of moments like this before.

Huh, I didn't realise there was such controversy around the ending. Should've seen it coming I suppose

SPOILERS BELOW-YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
This is how I see this. When you are dealing with time and multiple universes. It is hard to write rules, when you can't even prove that such things exist.

How does one Booker Dewitt affect all the Booker Dewitt's? Also if Booker Dewitt is Comstock, how doesn't Booker not recognize himself as being older? How doesn't Elizabeth not recognize it? She would see that Booker was her father.

Also you don't need to kill Booker. You could just stop him from joining the Army and he would of never been in the Wounded Knee incident. Funny that they use Christian ideologies. Once you are born again you become a racist and bible thumping lunatic and fundamentalist bigot!

started out strong then you had to complain about religion

Spoilers!!! (Obviously)

I believe that the baptism is a "constant". If you stop him from joining the military (or any other diversion) he will still end up there. That is the point where Booker and Comstock separate, so he had to either go through with it, deny it or be drowned to prevent either possibilities. They use Christian ideologies because that was what America was like during that time period.

Liz doesn't recognize Booker because she never saw Booker, she went through the tear when she was about 1, she wouldn't remember his face. And how would Booker know what he would look like as an old man? People can change a lot in 30-40 years.

In reference to "how does one Booker affect the others?", I think it is because all the universes with Comstocks and Bookers after the baptism come from that one moment. They bottleneck into one moment and Liz ties all the varying universes together with her powers and cuts them all off by drowning him.

The tying the universes together does seem to solve the problem, and actually the multiple elizabeths there kind of hints at that. I jsut didn't think it was that well explained at the time

urwifeminder4023d ago

Wont play this it seems to hip.

Chapkatsu4022d ago

I'm assuming that is some irony?

mariomaniac4022d ago

Yeah quantum mechanics is really hip

KentBlake4022d ago (Edited 4022d ago )

It's actually simple. If Booker is always killed in the baptism, every Booker that accepted it will be killed. Thus, there will be no Comstock, and no one to ask Booker to "Bring us the girl and we will wipe away the debt". So, Booker never gave Anna away, and that's the reason for the post credits scene.

It's a happy ending.

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell Of Ar Ciel Retro Review – Love Conquers All

Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.

Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.

That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.

Ar Tonelico 3 is good I still prefer the first AT game. The music is solid in all the games and Akiko Shikata is a very talented singer bringing life to the game. Only annoying part is well I find is Saki I always choose Finnel or Tyria. KOEI so needs to HD remaster the franchise along with Ar Nosurge and Ciel Nosurge since it never came to North America. I would day one the Ar Toneliceo games and Ar Nosurge if they were remastered.
