Sega, Where The Hell Is Yakuza 5?

Kotaku: I know it has flaws. Some of them completely alienating for most people. But damn it, I don't care. The Yakuza series is just about my favourite thing on the PS3.

They just do so many things that other games aren't doing. They are (sorry Sleeping Dogs) the single best way to indulge in virtual tourism, so thorough are they in recreating the everyday minutiae of Japanese city life. They've got, I think, the most vicious combat system going around. Maybe not the most elegant, or the most finely-balanced, but there's a heaviness and brutality to it that, even 100 hours in, never stops you wincing when you smash a bin into some guy's face.

I played the Yakuza 5 demo and very much enjoyed it. I would probably pick it up if it came to NA. Loved the fact there was a whole store you could go into that had tons of little mini-games like crane prizes, Virtua Fighter, photo booths, rhythm games, etc. I miss things like that in games...

I hope they announce this at the Sony Meet to show there is PS3 support coming to the West even after the PS4.

I would love Kazuma to be in PSBR too.. that would be swell

my one and only love; there just so many words but I can't find one that perfectly true; you're the only one I desire; you're the only one in my heart...

I need you Yakuza 5 but Sega's trying to draw us apart. ;(

.
Everyone spread the words about Yakuza 4 & Yakuza Dead Souls.

And we might have Yakuza 5 and Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Collection in English.

In my opinion, I very much enjoyed Yakuza 4 & Dead Souls.

I advised anyone to try Yakuza 3 & 4 at least.

Dead Souls is different from the main series though.

I didn't discover the franchise until yakuza 3 (a very good place to begin, since it has videos explaining the basics explaining what happens in the first two games).
I had allways heard good stuff about it, but didn't try them out for myself.

I bought Yakuza 3, but it arrived simultaneously as another game, wich I tried instead, and it ended up laying around unopened - until I finnished Sleeping Dogs and talked about Sleeping Dogs on a forum, and didn't remembered yakuza until some dude asked me how it stacked up to Yakuza.
So I popped it in to try it, needless to say two days later and 40+ hours into the game, I ordered Yakuza 4, wich were just as amazing. And arrived in the mail a day after finnishing up Yakuza 3, so I played more than 100 hours of Yakuza 3-4, in a week.
It's pretty amazing.
Author sums up my excitement for a potential English Yakuza 5 perfectly.

Sega sells Relic and will cut 240 jobs across UK studios

GamesIndustry.biz writes: "Relic is best known for the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War games, and recently developed the new Age of Empires for Microsoft. Relic will transition to an independent studio and will no-longer be part of the Sega group of studios.

The majority of the 240 job cuts are across Creative Assembly and Sega Europe, while there will be a ‘small number’ cut from Sega HARDLight. There was no mention of other Sega UK studios, including Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive."

Shame about Creative Assembly, they should have just been allowed to do an Alien Isolation sequel.

It was that garbage coh 3 that did them in only a special team can make a sequel worse in every way even though it was a 10 year gap and the same era.

I hope they find new jobs in the industry soon.

Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive probably run on a shoe string budget so that fits into SEGA better lol
