'Skyrim' Dragonborn PS3 Release Date; Bethesda Exec Won’t (Can’t?) Confirm February Date For PS3

IDIGITALTIMES: Good news for PC owners! You can now go ahead and preorder the Dragonborn DLC on Steam for $19.99. All three of the "Skyrim" DLCs, Hearthfire, Dawnguard and Dragonborn, will be available on Steam on Feb. 5. There is no preorder bonus or discount, however, a fact that was not lost on Steam users.

"There's no incentive to preorder, there's no discount for preordering as Steam often has, and I haven't heard anything about preload, so there's no difference between preordering and just buying it on the day it releases," wrote a user named "Brandon" in the comments section of Bethesda's official blog.

PS3 Game Owners should get the PC version (of the game) for Free so we can play the DLC. Valve had no problem giving us Portal 2 for Free on PC EVEN THOUGH they had no trouble programming the game for the PS3.

cloud4954104d ago

Yes, they should definitely do this. Or at least give the DLC for free. PS3 owners deserve it.

decrypt4104d ago

Why get the game for the PS3 if you already have a PC?

You made the choice going with the PS3 version now deal with it.

Anyone with common sense knows Bethesda games are always best on PC. Not just because of Bethesda having a history of releasing broken games (PC community always fixes em long before bethesda themselves can), but also because PC versions provides Mods.

Bethesda games on PC with Mods just are a different game. Anyone having a capable PC should know, going for the PC version is the most sensible choice.

Perjoss4104d ago

Buying a game should be a license anyway! if I feel like playing my Far Cry 3 for example today on my console but tomorrow I feel like playing it on PC why should I have to buy it twice??

grailly4104d ago

agreed, I think we'll eventually get there. Sony looks to be going in the right direction, with cross buy, and you can easily imagine it extending to gaikai.

grailly4104d ago

valve gave out portal 2, because it attracted new steam users, for a relatively low cost. Valve's income mainly comes from steam, their games are just there to get people on steam.

Valve are very smart, and understand how consumer oriented business works, they aren't jesus in the form of a company.

LAWSON724104d ago

Actually not a bad idea better than people expecting money or discounts. Those ps3 users who do have a pc could also buy the dlc for pc making the free copies generate some kind of sales.

Too late , Sold game already. Can't afford to wait for these things.

ThyMagicSword4104d ago

Why making games for Sony Systems, if they are not able to work on them properly? Sillish ...

Eazy-Eman4104d ago

I cannot wait till next gen. Bethesda won't be able to make excuses for open-world ps games that they develop. Hopefully fallout 4 comes out next gen with the creation engine and a game that comes close to the visual quality of the pc.

yewles14104d ago

Oh really? Watch'em try...

ThyMagicSword4104d ago

One day they will regret all that trying, spending tons of money for a console they are not familiar with, some things should not be done in the first place, no mistakes, no regrets.

Parasyte4104d ago (Edited 4104d ago )

@ThyMagicSword
No mistakes and no regrets leads to constantly "playing it safe" and creative stagnation. You have to make mistakes and have regrets in order to learn and grow as a game dev as well as an individual.

ThyMagicSword4104d ago

@Parasyte,that is how most people think,so you cannot speak of something individual. Bethesda has never been that creative, they have always prefered quantity over quality. Where was the creativity in Skyrim? There are also a lot of Ps3 crybabies, who regret buying Skyrim, because the developer (Bethesda Softworks) is not capable of handling the Ps3 version, do you really think that things will be different with the next Elder Scrolls on the next Sony homeconsole, you are being to positive, dude ...

Parasyte4104d ago (Edited 4104d ago )

And being too positive is a bad thing? Honestly, I care more about Fallout than I do The Elder Scrolls series. Fallout is just more fun to me...except New Vegas. That was the buggiest glitchfest I have ever played. I am seriously hoping that Bethesda learns from their mistakes and doesn't repeat them with Fallout 4. Based on their past track record though, I'd say we are in for more of the same.

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell Of Ar Ciel Retro Review – Love Conquers All

Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.

Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.

That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.
