Diablo III: Introducing the Paragon System

Jay Wilson writes:

"While working on patch 1.0.4, we came up with all sorts of ideas for ways to improve Diablo III. Some of them you’ve probably already seen, such as the general systems changes, the awesome buffs for Legendaries, and the improvements we’re making to the barbarian, demon hunter, monk, witch doctor, and wizard. The entire team really banded together to get as much into this patch as possible, and one of the exciting changes I’d like to tell you about today is called the Paragon system."

Looks like it's back to DIII for me!

Bobby Kotex4285d ago

I'll check it out, but with GW2 coming out this saturday, it's a little too late for most folks who left.

Guild Wars 2! Hells :YEAAAAAH!:
:)
It's going to be taking up my time just as much as it is now finding videos and re-reading information on the game over and over and over again.

I never played any of the betas but I don't need it :)
I just can't wait.

Scenarist4285d ago

same thing i was thinking..... ill check it out... real quick.. but with " what u said bout saturday" ill be long gone

fuck diablo 3 and its monetary system

ninavoljic4285d ago

Most people hail GW2 as the 'next big thing' .. meh, I played its beta but it's really not that great.

Anyway, I'll be playing it together with D3.

Dylken4285d ago

sadly i wont be going back and Gw2 should fill up my spare time

It might get me to play Diablo 3 on the side again so I don't get ENTIRELY burned out from Guild Wars 2 (if that is even possible :P).

I guess I'll have to see what happens with the 1.0.4 patch coming out. I just don't have the motivation right now as I am awaiting it in case a legendary item is waiting to drop for me. The game was a disappointment for me because of it not having at least the mechanics or at least the possibilities Diablo 2 had created.

The paragon idea isn't such a bad thing. I am happy I never even stacked or stashed magic find gear. I just found the item hunt dragging on without a push to find the next best thing or making different or crazy combinations instead of having to stack survival gear.

I still don't think it'll entice me to come back and play Diablo 3 just because of these changes though the more I think about it.

But, for now, I am awaiting Guild Wars 2 <3. Addicted to the videos that are out and every bit of information released on it.

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

thorstein104d ago

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.

Diablo III - Still a Huge Draw in the Face of Diablo IV

Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.

Palitera413d ago

Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?

kevco33413d ago

Heh, yeah. There's no comparison in here! Its a commentary on how III is still very playable over a decade later.
