Didn't the Vita release on the 22nd?

Edit: Nvm, these are those $350 First Editions according to VG. I can't wait to see how the $250 launch model did if the First Edition models sold that much ("No one's gonna buy those" lol). I still gonna wait for NPD for the official numbers though.

@ Financial

I see. Twisted Metal did well. I think VGchartz has Resistance 3 at a little over 1 million now. Not a flop in my eyes.

Eh, technically, but those "first edition" packs were released earlier to some people.

Nice to see that Little Deviants did that well too. Reviews were pretty harsh for that game and to see it hit 50,000. *claps* Still tripping at how well the First Editions Vitas sold though. Especially considering that the 3DS was way cheaper ($160).

Edit: Lol, where'd the approves go? XD

ISKREEM4444d ago

I think Resistance 3 was largely considered a "flop" because the intial sales were less than stellar, it only really started to pick up steam after it dropped in price so quickly. I can typicially find the game as cheap, or cheaper, than inFamous 2, which launched earlier, and without an online multiplayer component to boot.

The sales for Twisted Metal are very promising, all things considered, with the connectivity issues, and some mixed reviews. Here's to hoping it can maintain a steady growth over the next couple of weeks, and enjoy a much smoother launch in Europe.

230K Twisted Metal. . .not bad, it took Resistance 3 six weeks to reach that number in the US, so I'd say TM is off to a good start.
70k Vita first editions sold with 25k Uncharted sold? Thats more than a 3rd of Vita owners enjoying the game. A great week for SONY and PLAYSTATION in the US. . .yes?

Rynx4444d ago

Sorry bro, you've been stealth trolling SONY articles for a while now. It ain't going to work now.

OT. These are very promising numbers for the Vita and for only half way into the month (if you count the release of the first edition bundle, which came out a week earlier than the official launch). Can't wait to see official numbers.

He's right though. Now hurry and click his bubbles and whine his comment away.

Hahaha really? Another notorious troll coming to the aid of Financial Gamer? Hahaha. I should bubble you up for being funny. Well not because you were funny, but because of the scenario that just occurred.

The Nintendo 3DS had an amazing showing even though being bested by the XBOX 360 in its home territory. The Nintendo Wii is still seeing decline because Nintendo supporters are preparing to move forward to the Nintendo Wii U.

Not a bad showing in the US.

Also happy to see Sony expand its install base with the Playstation Vita. There will be great competition between the two amazing handhelds in future.

Titanz4444d ago (Edited 4444d ago )

Promising overall growth.

Also - it's nice to see the 3DS version of Tales of the Abyss up there, I read positive things about that title.

WooHooAlex4444d ago (Edited 4444d ago )

70,000 first edition bundles?

Damn, to be honest, I was expecting a little more than half of that. Seeing as how majority of Vita owners probably went for the wifi model, the first week of sales should be very strong.

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell Of Ar Ciel Retro Review – Love Conquers All

Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.

Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.

That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.

Ar Tonelico 3 is good I still prefer the first AT game. The music is solid in all the games and Akiko Shikata is a very talented singer bringing life to the game. Only annoying part is well I find is Saki I always choose Finnel or Tyria. KOEI so needs to HD remaster the franchise along with Ar Nosurge and Ciel Nosurge since it never came to North America. I would day one the Ar Toneliceo games and Ar Nosurge if they were remastered.
