It's an incredibly fun concept that forces you to work strategically with your friends, and it's hugely satisfying when you finally manage to win. The video game version is pretty much a carbon copy of the original board game, but instead, you play it on an Xbox. So, does Pandemic translate well to consoles, or is it a failure?"
Neil writes: "Even though video games have tried to kill it, the humble board game still has a place in society. Whilst it may have gone through some rocky patches, with a bit of a revival kicking in across recent years, it shows no sign of really being killed off though, and the integration with the video gaming world is one that many games have embraced. Pandemic is the latest to make the move to the virtual world, with Pandemic: The Board Game kicking up on to Xbox One."
Neil from Meeple of the Earth writes: "...a week ago, we pulled the game from its dusty corner of the cabinet, blew the cobwebs off, and sat down to see if we could salvage some form of pleasure from a game that had started so miserably. Roughly an hour later we emerged jubilant in defeat."
Buy it. It's a very good adaptation. I've played the physical board game loads of times. This app is nice for when I want to play solo
Hopefully they'll release On the Brink and In the Lab as IAP.
Only thing the app needs is online co-op multiplayer.
