The Five Most Memorable Locations In Video Games

We take a look back over the great archive of video games that's on offer to choose our all-time top five most memorable locations.

Pretty good list. But for me areas of shadow of the colossus held very memorable locations. Final fantasy 7's midgard, or gold saucer are memorable for me. Also, the deku tree in ocarina of time, or the castle in Mario 64! So many more I could list. Each to their own I guess though.

I feel like this author is 10 years old. I'm sorry but with all of the repeated textures and areas in Skyrim, it hardly makes ANY of it memorable.

The lack of Shadow Moses Island from MGS1 is completely laughable, or the revist to it in MGS4. I'd also agree very much with the castle in Mario 64.

A lot of the old levels in older Mortal Kombat games are also really etched in my childhood, but that's more of a personal thing.

Good idea for a list, poor execution.

He may not be 10 years old but his gaming experience sure feels like it started after 2004. Hell, even if he was a relative newbie to the scene, there are far more interesting locations to list from 7th generation games as number 1 than Skyrim.

It would be a poor list for somebody either way Biggy, I don't intend to annoy readers. This process is harder than you think, but it's mostly my experience with video games, not yours.

A cargo plane...really? Of all the thousands of games there have been...a cargo plane. Where's Hyrule's Water temple? Where's Half Life's Black Mesa? Or Half Life 2's City 17? Where's the fucking ring world from Halo? But no...a Cargo plane.

Jimneous3554d ago

Gamer1138; I think the author got confused by their own article since it's more what happens on the cargo plane that makes it memorable, rather than the cargo plane itself.
Personally, I think they should've saved that one for a different list.

Paprika3554d ago

Damn, city 17 was awesome!

Cernunnos3554d ago

Shadow Moses, Hyrule, Chernarus....

Clumpy3554d ago

5. Anor Londo - Dark souls
4. Donkey Kong Island - Donkey kong series
3. Shadow Moses Island - Metal Gear Solid series
2. Phendrana Drifts - Metroid Prime
1. Zeldas Castle - Zelda series

Something along those lines. Mostly, beautifull places.

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell Of Ar Ciel Retro Review – Love Conquers All

Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.

Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.

That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.

Ar Tonelico 3 is good I still prefer the first AT game. The music is solid in all the games and Akiko Shikata is a very talented singer bringing life to the game. Only annoying part is well I find is Saki I always choose Finnel or Tyria. KOEI so needs to HD remaster the franchise along with Ar Nosurge and Ciel Nosurge since it never came to North America. I would day one the Ar Toneliceo games and Ar Nosurge if they were remastered.

I still have the limited edition of Qoga unopened. Unfortunately it never went up in value like I had hoped all these years.
