Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.
Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.
That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.
Ar Tonelico 3 is good I still prefer the first AT game. The music is solid in all the games and Akiko Shikata is a very talented singer bringing life to the game. Only annoying part is well I find is Saki I always choose Finnel or Tyria. KOEI so needs to HD remaster the franchise along with Ar Nosurge and Ciel Nosurge since it never came to North America. I would day one the Ar Toneliceo games and Ar Nosurge if they were remastered.
I still have the limited edition of Qoga unopened. Unfortunately it never went up in value like I had hoped all these years.
TopSpin 2K25 Review - After a very long hiatus, TopSpin is back! Can Hangar 13 bring the venerable tennis series back to relevance?
I'm pretty sure that they sell more units there than in the UK, Germany and France... /s
But yeah, it is important, just like any other European market where they want to sell more than the competitors, but I'd say the UK is the most important, just because last gen it used to be the pretty much only European country in which the 360 dominated (maybe because it's an English-speaking country like the US). So if they can win there in the long run they'll be happier than they are with a country that they've always been successful in, like Portugal.
Lol
Yeah Im pretty sure he meant percentage wise. Of course here in Portugal we are small and few compared to other larger EU countries & markets but we dont get all the pimps and whistles either (in regards to services like Movies and App) , we get shafted there a lot...
As a Portuguese gamer this is very true,Portuguese consumeres have been kinda loyal to Sony for decades not just gaming, since the mid eighties with the sound revolution made by Sony with the walkman, the brand became very popular in our contry, and it endure to this day...
I posessed both sistems(ps3,xbox)and just for an example how other brands dont sell as much, when i bougth my Xbox the cashier was very curious, and said "it´s the very first Xbox i sell in months,if you didn´t whent there(Microsoft division of the store)no one would"
I´ve always felt this as a consumer(the Sony preference by everyone around me)but to see it reconized by the brand it self it´s kinda cool.
There's many reasons why Sony is dominant here (in Portugal), since I was a young boy (I'm 32 now), buying a Nintendo or Sega console was like buying a Ferrari because the prices of the games were just stupidly high, or maybe we were just to poor, it frustrated me because I wanted the original stuff but I could only afford the chinese knock-ofs, which actually played Nintendo games...
So I always felt that Nintendo or even Sega never cared to adjust the prices to our market, and there was never a game dubbed or translated to Portuguese, I hate Zelda (NES) to this day because I couldn't just simple understand what to do or where to go, it was like playing it blinded, Sony (1rst party games) on the other way, not much longer after it was released went to the trouble of putting Portuguese subbs on the games, and some time after they started making the games completly localized, while this for me stopped being important due me knowing English better and better, it made a huge different to a younger audience, who could understand the story of the games, or even a simple thing as the menu, "save game" and "Load Game" means nothing to a young Portuguese kid, so you can see right there how frustrating a game not localized can be.
So we can say Sony respected our country and our language despite we being so few, Nintendo and Sega who were in the Portuguese Market for much longer NEVER cared for us, just like Nintendo still don't cares and Microsoft the same thing. Sony didn't win a country of loyal fans just by accident, they won a country of fans because the respected us and actuality did an effort to help and please the Portuguese gamers.
We still don't have many of the services our neighbor european countries have, but I'm damn sure that if they ever arrive here, it will be by Sony hand, Microsoft and Nintendo just simply ignore us because we are only 10 million ppl.
Now that Brasil is growing very fast I believe some things will change, I just hope we don't end up with PT-BR versions of games...
