T3 Magazine get a very first hands on with the PS4. Going in depth with it's new features and even comparing its size with that of the first gen ps3 slim. The results will shock even the most die hard xbox fans.

The controller actually has some texture on the back, I've not noticed that in an image or video before. Also, nice to see that the size is so much smaller, I can't quite believe how much better it looks compared to the Xbox One, and there are only a few simple tweaks.

@buddymagoo I think the Aux port is the dedicated port for the PS4 Eye. I remember them saying it won't take up a USB slot, so that might be it.

The AUX port is for the PS Eye camera. Sony has already stated that the camera does not use one of the 2 USB ports.

I talked about this very subject back in jan 3rd 2013. before the reveal of the info on the feb 28th and low and behold look at the size. many do not know that sony is one of the small number of companies investing heavy into 3D Stacked TSV, hell the PS3 and the PSVita all use this investment.

Sony copied again just like they did with the six axxis controller(motion like Wii) and now with the PS4 controller(headphone jack on bottom for wired headset)

Can these people actually think up something for themselves without just putting raw power in something and calling it innovation. Innovation is not increasing your specs, it's about improving old ideas. They seem to add what the other guy has done to their brand and call it innovation. What can the PS4 do that the PS3 can't besides give better graphics? Not trolling, just asking a REAL question

It's a lot smaller than I first thought. Other comparisons put it against the X1 which gave no frame of reference.

usually in games, the select button is used as a quick way to get to the map display, I wonder whether they'll stick it in the "options" menu, or on another button?

It will probably be mapped on the touch pad. Killzone uses the touch pad as a control menu for the robot drone or something like that anyway

I like the controller much better than PS3. I also like that the unit is smaller than the PS3. I'm not a big fan of the angular design though. It makes the footprint larger than necessary and will make it more difficult to plug things in the back. (I see many disagrees coming bc I didn't say I like it 100%...only like 80%.)

Looks fantastic. When they showed it at E3 I was like oh damn it looks pretty much like the Xbone but then when you got to those comparisons between both consoles you actually found it was quite considerably smaller and its italicised angling gives it that tiny bit of style, not much, but enough to be more than just being a plain rectangle box of hardware.

They've done well I think.

There has been a lingering mystery about what type of disc loading mechanism Sony has installed for new PS4 console.

There is circular identation for Blu Ray disc on ( 0:10 ) and on ( 2:44 ) were he stacks up new PS4 over PS3 Slim, I'm very sure this time around PS4 has a sliding tray ala PS3 Super Slim instead of slotting disc configuration of original PS3/Slim.
Also with sliding tray ( flip to left or up while console is standing ), you can still keep console upright on it's stand.

Most likely for practical reasons and to keep production prices down.

Seems the ps4 has its motherboard vertical, which you see in a lot of office desktop pc's, while MS went for a console traditional horizontal layout.
This results in the ps4 being less wide then the XB1, but it do is longer/deeper.

The real advantage in size from the ps4 comes from its height, the XB1 is thicker.
