I really hope so this gen was all shooters and i feel open world games can do so much more. since you can have so many different type of open worlds with different environments and characters.
Couldn't be happier. The current gen was dominated by first person shooters as open world games were limited by hardware. Next gen gonna be sick.
i sure hope not. i really do prefer a more focused and linear style in both gameplay and story, mostly story but open world gameplay can be a annoying sometimes too. I like how LA Noire did by giving you the option.
I think open world is being implemented into all these different genres some way or another. Count me in!
