GamerFitNation: Gregory Laporte met up with Matthew Berger developer of Diablo III at PAX East 2013. In this interview, Berger talks everything that’s new on Diablo III for the PlayStation 3.
Who says a dud game can't have a video game comeback?
Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.
Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.
Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?
Diablo III: Season 28 brings with it the Altar of Rites, an altar full of unlockable bonuses and potions that will require the gathering of tons of resources. One of things needed is the Staff of Herding, which also unlocks the famous Cow Level known as Whimsyshire. Here's how to craft that staff, for those that either have forgotten, or have never completed it.
IMHO it will be better because no ALWAYS ONLINE option. That in itself makes it 100x better.
I do like what they're saying. Diablo 2 was one of the first games I really got into and I was really looking forward to this game before it came out. I'm still not really sure what the problems were that bothered people but I've liked what I've seen so far from Diablo 3.
I'm excited. I didn't buy it originally because I only have a extremely worn out laptop that can't take anything so this will be great. I don't care for whatever hate people have for this game, I did try the beta and I know this is a game I can sink my teeth in and play for a long time.
What exactly is Playstation Live lmao?
A lot of, if not all, of the console only features the guy said can easily be applied to the PC version. Dodge, bob-and-weave, direct control. He's talking as is you can't play a PC game like a console version when you plug in a controller.
I can easily switch between KBM and an X Box 360 control scheme when playing Bastion. Blizzard on the other hand thinks it's impossible.
The only exclusive feature PC gamers are stuck with is the always online DRM. Hard to get excited or proud about that.
