I don't know if I'm just unlucky, but every time I click on the link provided, some annoying as hell 5 second timer starts and skips to the next ps2 video.

Anyone who might be having the same problem I am, here's a link that actually works:

Psp maybe ?? for Monday Ps Vita Tuesday , and it's worth noting that these Evolution video's are being posted at 11pm GMT which is the time of the Conference .

thaimasker4095d ago

Not very likely at all.
PSP, Then PS Vita then PS4 seems alot more likely

Blackdeath_6634095d ago (Edited 4095d ago )

no they wouldn't hype up a press conference then announce the ps4 randomly on youtube before then. though it would be awkward if someone at sony uploaded the ps4 video out of anticipation ahead of time.

on a side note i was told youtube is not a valid source when making a submission and got reported for it back when i first came to N4G can i have a bit of clarification on that please?

PS3 - is easily the greatest video game console of all time

kane_13714094d ago

no, Playstation is.

PS3 is the spoiled brat that had everything for it.
It came in to be a success but had to struggle and wasn't used to, since the Grand dad had built this life of his with a success of over 100 mil consoles as well as the daddy did the same.

So it came in saying I AM A PLAYSTATION and realized it has to fight for its rights.
this made it a console with a legend of its own, a tail of hard work and success.
It is in a whole other level than just calling it the greatest of all time.

It is a Legend.
A console that the world deserved, but not a console that they needed, so they chased him and tried to destroy him....
Cause he is a savior, a Dark CONSOLE

Sevir4094d ago

I feel out of my seat laughing hysterically! That was pure awesome. I love the homage to Christian Nolan's "The Dark Knight"

Tomorrow = PSP
Tuesday = Vita
Wednesday = Playstation Meeting/PS4 announcement

bunt-custardly4094d ago

Did they show anything of HOME in this video?

FamilyGuy4094d ago

Nope, crazy, seemed like it could have been a lot longer. PS3 tech, Move, PSN and PS+ was all they mentioned.

Guess Home won't be part of PS4 :/

steve30x4094d ago

Tomorrow will be PS Vita today PSP

I think PS3 was a bigger step up on PS2 then PS2 was over PS1.

What a great console the PS3 has been. Can't wait for PS4

If there's one thing that's embodied PS3 for me this gen it's LittleBigPlanet. I applaud Sony for their continued support for the risky but highly imaginative titles. PS3 had a lot of games that came under that umbrella. Which made PS3 the best in my opinion

LiViNgLeGaCY4095d ago (Edited 4095d ago )

Completely agree. PS3 has been an amazing console.

Blackdeath_6634095d ago

yep i think heavy rain was revolutionary is aswell in the gaming industry though many people would say otherwise and i think Beyond will be just as important. getting real actors to do a complete mo-cap that includes body,face and eyeball movements AND the voice acting at the same time is a huge step forward. i respect sony for making that possible.

Ace_Pheonix4095d ago

And LittleBigPlanet on the Vita is the best one yet. Just some food for thought. I've really been enjoying it.

Sarcasm4095d ago

Uncharted was the game for me. I'm literally going mental on thinking what Naughty Dog is going to accomplish on the PS4.

EbeneezerGoode4095d ago

Agree 100% (other than your game choice, mine would be Uncharted and a mix of others).

PS3 has been a joy to own and use and will still be good enough to keep around even after PS4 arrives (as a handy 3D BluRay player and older game system)

Bring on PS4!!! :)

M2-4095d ago (Edited 4095d ago )

Funny how the tides have changed and Sony throwing money at developers for exclusivity is now somehow a good thing.

LittleBigPlanet, Infamous, Resistance, Heavy Rain, etc were all original IP's created by independent developers. Sony's role was simply paying to deny the experience to a wider audience. You should be thanking the developers not Sony for the aforementioned IP's.

edit:

@BitbyDeath
Both Sony themselves and in turn their fans mocked the thought of paying any amount for exclusivity period.

"In the interview, Tretton said "We have a very different approach to exclusives than some of our competitors. We don't buy exclusivity. We don't fund development. We don't, for the lack of a better term, bribe somebody to only do a game on our platform.""

http://www.joystiq.com/2007...

@Estranged
The games were already being developed, they would have been published regardless, whether on consoles or on PC/Mac. You shouldn't be giving Sony credit for their hypocritical act of "bribing somebody" [see quote above].

BitbyDeath4095d ago

You're probably thinking of timed-exclusives.

Nobody said boo when Alan Wake or Gears went exclusive to MS, same for the titles you mentioned being exclusive to Sony.

SoapShoes4095d ago

Oh I'll thank them for those games because without Sony taking the risk on them they never would have existed.

MM originally pitched the LBP idea to Microsoft but they declined due to their strict policies on Live. The others were funded by Sony and Sony was the only one to even want to chance publishing Heavy Rain.

Shadow Flare4095d ago (Edited 4095d ago )

"Throwing money"?

Microsoft has more money then Sony and Nintendo made more money then Sony with the Wii and DS

So where are their LittleBigPlanet's, Journey, Heavy Rain, Last Guardian, Beyond, Flower, Pixeljunk etc. games?

Sony has shown more willingness to encourage these type of games

And in Media Molecules case, they went to Sony with their LBP idea and they loved that Sony totally got what they wanted to achieve. And Sony supported that fully. Look at Last Guardian. Any other company would have canned that by now but Sony is still supporting it.

Instead Microsoft threw their money at timed DLC ($50 million for GTA4 timed DLC was it?) and an eyetoy knock off while simultaneously giving their core fans the middle finger to focus on the casuals (as evident in the last 3 E3's)

And Nintendo has spent that money on....yet another console with old hardware, sold at a premium price, with no games. What did they spend their money on???

BitbyDeath4095d ago (Edited 4095d ago )

Looks like a play on words as Tretton is kind of right about them doing it differently.

Sony have a lot of 2nd party studios where as Nintendo and MS have none.

I'm not sure on the exact methodology being used but we do know it means a contract of sorts where Sony own the franchise and pay the bills for its creation.

Looks like PR talk though as the contract essientially does what he says they do not... just accomplished differently.

M2-4095d ago (Edited 4095d ago )

@Shadow Flare

If each console were a mirror image where exactly would the competition be?

Thatgamecompany created Flower, Journey and Flow not Sony and they were/are bound by a 3 game exclusivity deal, which almost bankrupted them, the same is probably true for many other PS3 exclusives (bar 1st party, going near bankrupt).

Sony are pushing exclusives because third party exclusives are near extinct (something Sony relied on the past two generations), PS3 third party support is not as strong as the Xbox 360 and buying a PS3 for anything other than Blu-ray and exclusives is pointless as multiplatform games are generally worse on the system and the online, though free, is still lacking.

Sony are relying on the strategy used by Sega with the Dreamcast, and we all know how that turned out.

You mention MS paying $50 million for timed-exclusive DLC but missed the overall outcome. Not only did it actually "help" fund GTA4 for multiple platforms, but the DLC was not restricted to a single console despite the initial investment. How is that a negative?

Nathaniel_Drake4095d ago

Nintendo and MS turned down Media Molecule, guess who took them. They take risks on developers because they see potential there and are very helpful in their growth, that's why so many second party developers love to create games on their system.

If it weren't for Sony we wouldn't see the full potential of these developers. Sony gives them the ability to showcase to us gamers, whereas the developers gets the tools to grow and not be stunted like some other companies do to developers

M2-4095d ago

@Ramzadel, Estranged
Where are you getting this idea that Media Molecule approached MS and Nintendo?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

theBAWSE4094d ago

@m2 ...what excuse are you going to use about third party next gen? The only bonus 360 had was some multiplat games ran better...that's been nullified with ps4 and its easy to develop for PC innards

I'm struggling to think of any advantage ms have going into next gen..

Ju4095d ago

Agreed. I will keep mine, even after the PS4 released. I am curious if we will see great games for it even after the PS4 is out. I don't expect BC, and there are still games I haven't played yet. If they'll have PS4 remote play, that will be a keeper anyway and stay at least as a media hub and blue ray player.

Imalwaysright4095d ago

"I think PS3 was a bigger step up on PS2 then PS2 was over PS1." Yeah... in the wrong direction.

Shadow Flare4095d ago (Edited 4095d ago )

Yeah, Sony should have made the ps3 more like the wii and 360

Whatever.... were.... they.... thinking.......

No Man's Sky Is Easily One Of Gaming's Greatest Comeback Stories

Despite No Man Sky's rocky launch, Hello Games managed to turn it into one of the best space exploration RPGs out there.

-Foxtrot3h ago

I hate the whole concept of "comeback story" because at the end of the day it doesn't remove the core issue we had in the first place, that we were lied to, it was disappointing and it launched with bare content to what was promised for years.

Any bad game can have a comeback story if it's supported enough after launch but for me if you launch in a terrible state then you had your chance. I can applaud you for what you've done after but at the end of the day there's not much of a choice since most gamers would blank your next product if you ditched your last game so fast, it's not about repairing the game but spending your time repairing gamers trust before you launch your next product otherwise it would be dead on arrival.

With these stories and the games being updated, the only way is up most of the time so of course it's going to improve the game and feel better over all, getting better and better as time passes. No Mans Sky, Sea of Thieves, Fallout 76 etc but then you have games like Anthem, Suicide Squad, Redfall and The Avengers where the devs just clearly moved on, now if they have another product people won't be as exited for it, I mean hell Guardians of the Galaxy was a great game but because of the Avengers it didn't help its sales since people were obviously still sour at that point.

I still think despite the improvements to games like No Mans Sky and Cyberpunk along with being better now overall the games are still not up there to what was promised and hyped as for years.

If we keep celebrating these “comeback stories” then unfortunately it only strongly supports the concept that these studios / publishers can continue to push half arsed broken products out for the sake of quick sales instead of waiting until they are fully finished. We need to condemn this awful behaviour or sadly we lose all voice and power as consumers.

Sonic18811h ago(Edited 1h ago)

I feel the same way about Cyberpunk 2077. I'm glad you mentioned that. I'm not a fan of comeback stories as well. But No man sky developer was a small indie team compared to CDPR. It's worse when it's coming from a AAA developer

Nacho_Z1h ago

"Any bad game can have a comeback story if it's supported enough after launch"

You make it sound so simple and easy. It's not. After release Hello Games poured countless hours into getting their game closer to what they originally wanted, without charging a penny to anyone. That's not normal.

The reason NMS and HG are held in such high esteem and calling them liars is a weak stance is the amount of work they've put into it, for free. They're not chasing a quick buck, they've dedicated their lives over the last few years to giving their fans the game everyone wanted.

-Foxtrot1h ago(Edited 46m ago)

They are liars though...

We are not revising history here, I'm sorry but we're not

They built this game up for years and they launched it knowing full well it wasn't up to scratch to what they originally showed off or hyped it up to be.

"They're not chasing a quick buck, they've dedicated their lives over the last few years to giving their fans the game everyone wanted"

And like I said above most of that comes from the fact that if they had just moved on straight away nobody would have supported their next game. They've washed most of that sour taste away after supporting No Mans Sky so now they are doing a new game which more people feel like they can support and get excited for.

Anyway how can you say "You make it sound so simple and easy. It's not" and then make the point that "Hello Games poured countless hours into getting their game closer to what they originally wanted, without charging a penny to anyone"

This means that if a small team like this can turn a game around then big AAA games like Suicide Squad, Redfall, Anthem and the like should have been able to do it no problem, oh but that's right they didn't want to put the time or effort into it. They can do it but some people just decide not to.

thorstein2h ago

I really enjoyed it at launch and had every trophy by August 2016.

The experience I had is no longer in the game: It was just me and my ship. It was a survival game and the feeling of loneliness in the universe was pervasive. There was no way to ruin too far from your ship and, in an emergency, you grenaded a hole in the ground to survive.

I miss that aspect, but since then, I love what they've done.

Hugodastrevas56m ago

I'd say it's THE definitive comeback story

jwillj2k439m ago

Oh great another story about the cleanest shirt in a bin of dirty laundry.
