NFL Sunday Ticket Returns to PS3; And it's cheaper than last year

IGN:

Last year, DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket came to the PlayStation 3 for $340. This year, the package is back and allows you to live stream out of market NFL games. Plus, it's cheaper at $299.95.

Definitely wanting to get this. I was reading up on some of the forums and people were saying that it had very poor performance issues last year. Especially at the beginning. Anyone on here know for sure if it is or was running good after theses issues? I really want to get this, but I don't want to pay for something that costs that much only to be frustrated. Any one?

The beginning of the year issues made it unwatchable, but after they fixed that I thought it was worth it. I watched every week and the only complaint I had was the 1 o clock games were never as smooth as the 4 o clock games were, I assume because there weren't as many games to stream at 4 so it came in clearer. Sometimes the resolution would drop (looked like a bad internet stream) and a couple minutes later would recover during 1 o clock games and it would stall for a second, but you can rewind and fast forward so you never actually miss a play (I don't think it ever skipped forward, might just stall to buffer and then ur game is running slightly behind real time). If those sort of issues won't bother you then you'll enjoy it for sure.

Okay now if I remember correctly, Sunday Ticket was only $85 last year on PS3.
I'm almost certain that it was.
I remember looking @ the price n thinking hard on it cause I felt it was a great price. It wasn't no damn $200-$300 for it!

N besides, @ a price like that u'd b better off just getting it through Directtv, they're giving u Sunday Ticket free as long as u sign up for their package, and u'd still b able to checkout the games on ya PS3.
That's how I did it last year.
It did have it's hiccups, n wasn't always smooth, but last year I would give it a B- for my overall experience.

I honestly wouldn't get it for no damn $300.
Lol, hell no!

Game on.

jut4204266d ago

It was like $85 a month last year, it was my only option since everyone else in my house is fine sticking with Time Warner, but yes you're better off getting DirectTV if u can.

Chicago85064266d ago

Oh okay, thanks for clearing that up for me bro. I must've overlooked the "monthly" part lol. Got too excited when I saw $85 :)

Game on.

Directv is giving it free this year to all new subscribers and to those who were effected during there stalemate with the networks which was almost everyone. I dont see this as a good deal seeing it has many technical issues which is normal with most streaming sites and with a much better connection and service if you have directv which sadly i cant get since i have tree blocking my view at my apt.

black9114266d ago

I might use my friends direct tv but if hat doesnt work i will buy this.

SpinalRemains4260d ago

Woohoo!

Freat stuff.

They charge you the full 300 at once this year rather than monthly payments like last year.

CNET: Xbox One ESPN And NFL Integration: A Look At What's Coming

Microsoft wants you to perceive the Xbox One as a way to get your TV and entertainment in a bold new way. While it was known this was coming since the Xbox event back in May, Microsoft has offered a little more detail about what these sports offerings entail when they debut in November. Between the split-screen delivery of content and multi-tasking that the Xbox One's capable of plus its use of HDMI-in to deliver cable TV content, the One could be a magical living room all-in-one device.

Laugh all you want at this, it will sell systems. There are a lot of people out there who use their systems (PS3 and 360) for more than gaming.

Idba3897d ago

Thea Only i use my ps3 is gaming, Blu-ray and netflix. The only country that cares about nfl is NA, and i live om Norway and nobody here gives a fuck about the nlf

koolaid2513897d ago

The nfl is set st make 25 billion dollars a year starting in 2025

glennco3897d ago

So you are just trolling?

P0werVR3897d ago

Ask yourself why major industries and companies target NA first....because it has a stronger market!

Put your sentiments aside, it's all about the money not about a group of lackeys passion over a sport. Fifa will sale a lot, but given how much you would get out of a single currency compared to differing lower valued currency NA will always be the main target for either company.

xHeavYx3897d ago

Right, I can imagine people reserving the One just because ESPN. If only there was an electronic box that let you watch tv without having to pay$500... oh wait, there is, it's called TV!

denawayne3897d ago

Let me clarify. I think TV integration and snapping will sell systems. Not just NFL and ESPN stuff

CPTN MITCHELL3897d ago

U still need cable for all that to work

Flutterby3897d ago

Plus most of the world couldn't care less about NFL or espn , most of this tv integration will be useless to anyone outside of the US, and also needing a paid tv sub to use it kinda makes the point moot. I can't see this as some major selling point to most ppl

maniacmayhem3897d ago

Thank god I live in the US where I love some Football and baseball.

I can see this being a major selling point to most people including me.

General summary of comments so far...

"I don't live in NA so it doesn't matter to me, it won't matter to anyone then"

THIS MATTERS - TO 10s OF MILLIONS THIS MATTERS AND IS AWESOME

Taking The Field With The NFL Sunday Ticket On PS3

GameInformer: "For years, people who lived away from their hometowns only had a few options to watch their favorite football team play on Sunday. You could go to a local bar and spend a ton of money on food and beverage to watch the game, scour the web for an illegal stream, settle for an audio feed like the olden days, or sign up for DirecTV and drop hundreds of dollars on the NFL Sunday Ticket package. Now you can skip the new satellite TV service altogether and access the NFL buffet via your PlayStation 3.

After a bumpy first few weeks where service issues forced Sony to offer PlayStation Store vouchers to angry subscribers, I spent my Sunday taking in the first 12 games on Sunday to evaluate whether Sony worked out the kinks and, most importantly, whether the PS3 version of the Ticket is worth the steep price of admission."

does anyone know i this can be used with more than 1 psn acct if so i would split it with my friend.

Solidus187-SCMilk4591d ago

not sure but Im pretty sure it cant. It is linked to a certain PSN account.

kma2k4591d ago

This is WAAAAY to over priced. I had the baseball package this last year, it cost $120.00 & worked perfectly with the ps3. Not to mention baseball is 162 games for $120 that comes out to $1.35 per game. The price they want for football is insane!!!!!

DeFFeR4591d ago

Umm... ignoring the fact that you can't do math ( you get more than one teams games... so really its 162 x 30 teams, or however many teams in the MLB there are...) and ignoring the fact that NFL is 10x as popular as MLB, I agree that it's overpriced.

feelintheflow4591d ago

Its the same price it would cost someone who already had directv and had the nfl package. My Dad has had the package for years and he paid the same amount. If you join Directv it is free this year, but will cost the same next. I paid for it this year, and after the week 1 debacle, it has been pretty good. Not quite HD but pretty close. Best I can do until I get directv. They finally added local channels in my area, so I will be switching from my terrible cable company.
