Activision's new Elite subscription service for Call of Duty will be available for $49.99 a year, or about $4.15 a month, when it launches alongside the highly-anticipated Modern Warfare 3.
Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg made the announcement at a Gamasutra attended press-only preview for Activision's Call Of Duty XP fan event, going on in LA this weekend. The company has gone to some effort for the festivities, creating an enormous compound that recreates Modern Warfare 2's The Pit and Scrapyard maps for real paintball tournaments.
Activision Blizzard ordered to pay $23.4M for patent infringement involving popular games.
I would read the article but the giant pop-ups from the top and bottom of the screen made me close it.
Without reading $23.4 million isn't a deterrent for a company that size.
Boss: Let's fire a few people to recoup on that loss.
Slave: Cortana has decided to get rid of Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks.
Boss: Let's get those Firing Letters "Copilot Approved" and send them through the power of the cloud.
Slave: Long Live Phil !!!
ALL in the room: LONG LIVE PHIL !!!!
Well another troll company with a patent trying to extort money out of companies. Seems like they’re going to try and sue everyone.
The developers have provided a little band-aid while PlayStation players attempt to get back into MW3.
Recently, players of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone were met with a new bundle featuring the B.E.A.S.T. Glove, inspired by King Kong's armament in the Godzilla x Kong movie. However, the $80 price tag attached to this themed accessory left many Call of Duty fans feeling underwhelmed.
Morons that allow themselves to be milked continuously by this company is the definition of irony.
Spend more $$ and you'll end up In easier lobbies so you win both ways when ya spend that cash
Controversy in the COD community feels like it happens within an alternate timeline. Activision will take the piss with something, there will be a momentary fuss about it, and then they will forget about it and carry on anyway. Repeat this cycle literally every year for the rest of time.
I'm so tired of hearing about what they're doing with this game, its never going to change and it's never going to value the consumer over money, furthermore the people who engage so heavily in the microtransactions I guess allegedly are having a blast and can't wait to do it some more this year when the new version of the game drops.
What I don't understand is why are they selling a game for $65 bucks then this for $50 bucks when a year from now Treyarch is gonna have another COD out thus making this whole investment nothing but water down the drain? Screw COD Elite, Screw IW, and screw buying games new. Most of all, screw all the shareholders at activision, they are nothing but swine.
Better things to spend your dosh on.
Hahahahaha! Oh my god are they fucking serious!? Jesus Christ I've actually burst out laughing in a cafe.
Again charging for something that should be free i think they did this instead off having a subscribtion to play cod online because the public out cry would be huge and could hurt cod sales and we all know Activision love nothing more than money our money that is !!!
50 dollars a year for stat tracking which is a service that dice offers for free with Battlefield 3.
No thanks
