Arius, games look like they are failing on Wii because of the installed base. There are 4x as many Wii's in homes in the US as there are PS3's. So when companies see that only 70,000 copies of a game sold in the US, that is considered a failure to them. It means that most Wii owners aren't buying their games. This means they either have to cater to the casual crowd to make profit, or switch consoles to appeal to the regular gamers. Muramasa is a beautiful game. It was almost enough to make me...
<3 PSP. Can't wait for these games! Any chance these games will have online play? Could you imagine an online tekken 6 on the psp? OMG?
It won't because its an addon. The only addon that sold well was Wii Fit because people are fat and Nintendo played on their want to find the easiest way to get skinny.
Yawn.
Sony won e3 by showing the best games. These articles are so stupid. e3 is about GAMES.
Preordered. Add me to the club! :P
Sony did win in the games front. Both MS and Sony's motion control was neat and I like to see gaming head towards new technology, but games are all that matter in gaming and Sony has the best lineup.
Will it? All we have seen is a video... Wait till we see it in action before you declare it will sell millions of 360's. Keep in mind that it is an addon. People are lazy and dont buy addons. The reason Wii is so successful is because the motion control comes with the system. Natal does seem like a glorified eyetoy. What makes it so different? Eyetoy has recognition and can sense movement. On that note, I don't think the PS3 motion control wand thingy will boost units that much for the same r...
I love how everyone says Microsoft won e3 again. Just like last year. Sony had the better games and lineup, but one announcement made MS win. Same thing this year. MS rips the eyetoy and they magically win with a sub par games lineup. Eh, to each his own I guess. Sony won in my eyes, just like last year.
Might I remind you its all about the games... Natal is a good idea in theory, even if it is just a rip of the eyetoy, but the games are what matters. No support = epic fail. Look at the Wii? Everyone was bragging how it would be the best thing ever. Developers never truly mastered the motion control and now most people hate using it in games. I would wait for more tech demos of natal before claiming it is the savior of gaming. Sony's motion control is neat and way better than Nintendo's, but ...
PSP Go was already a day one purchase for me. But this is icing on the cake.
I have over 20 psp games... While this is great news for us old psp owners, how much space is this going to take? My psp go will be maxed out before I even buy a new game. :(
Sony won in my eyes... but I'm biased... No matter who you choose, at least Nintendo bombed again. It's sad what success can do to a great company. I will never take Nintendo serious again.
October can't come soon enough! Better start saving now.
PSP = win. Its the only handheld to even give Nintendo competition. Show some respect Mr C. For the adult male, the PSP is the choice handheld. Now if you are a baby or an old dood, its ds all the way!
If it matters, I play my psp a lot more than my ds. With the announced games at this e3 for the psp, the choice should be a lot easier.
Is anyone else concerned that the screen will get destroyed if you carry it in your pocket? I know they will make screen protectors, but having the screen on the outside like that... is just asking for problems. They should have made the screen flip around somehow, so it would protect itself.
@Nuri
I bought a Psp-2000 so I could play my games on the tv. This is not as great as it sounds and I've only used it once. The screen was cropped and it really looked grainy because my tv is 37 inches. The screen on the psp-3000 is supposedly messed up. The only thing that worries me about the GO is how am I going to get my UMD's on it? Also, is 16gb going to be enough space? The price is rough too, but I think since I'm a gadget whore, I will buy one at launch. If I had to choo...
My whole reason for going into game design is to recreate the games of the past using beautiful 2d. Just hope I can get my start soon. I too wish to see games like SoTN on the PS3/360 in modern 2d graphics.
I love my PS3, always have and always will. I'm tempeted to buy a slim because my fatboy takes up a lot of space, and I don't ever want it to go bad on me. It's a launch day 60gb. Anyone know what the biggest hard drive you can get for the slim is? I want at least 500gb. I'm so glad to hear that PS3 is selling well. You should expect the numbers to stabalize a bit in the coming months. But I can assure you it will be above 360 or at least head to head with it from this point on.
