A message of peace and love is nice, but it will never get through.
I propose we set up a hunger games/highlander "there can be only one" fanboy Battle Royale. Not for entertainment, but to make the world a better place.
And that's just boxed copies. The game was significantly cheaper to buy digitally for PS Plus members, at least when it launched.
DirectX 12 doesn't do all that for the developer automatically. It will take additional work from devs to utilise it properly. That is why Microsoft are also continuing to develop DirectX 11.3, so that some of the new features are made available with in the easier API.
Big name engines like Unreal 4 will probably handle a lot of that work 'automatically' though, so it's not like every little studio that wants to take advantage of the tech will need to learn h...
HyperV + Direct12 = Better lighting?
Please show your workings out.
@N4gamingm The vast majority of the 5billion transistors on the SoC are the ESRAM. It doesn't mean the XBox One is anywhere close to comparible to a 5billion transistor GPU.
It was rumoured for March based on I can't remember what, and an Activision said publically that Destiny would be a natural fit for the PC. I'll be surprised if it doesn't come out.
As for this list, every one of the games is available on consoles. That doesn't mean it's wrong to want to play them, but it's not exactly a big incentive to invest in a PC.
Yeah I think the Wii U concept was a bit of a cock-up to be honest, but I'd rather see them try bad ideas than no ideas at all.
It'll be pretty bad if their rumoured AMD x86 console is just a re-packaged PS4.
On-topic, looks like Nintendo have some top games lined up again. I still haven't started Bayonetta 2!
I object to your sexist attitude, and refute the implication that you have "chicks" visit your house in the first place.
Fair enough, I stand corrected.
I see PS Now as Gaikai because it is the more direct application, but it makes sense they'd use the compression and other low latency streaming tech in other endeavours. That's often the value in buying a tech company as opposed to just working with them.
Didn't realise people referred to that as 'Gaikai'
Rather depends what the terms of using GameWorks are. If NVidia and AMD both offered software libraries but insisted on using them exclusively as part of the deal then that'd be terrible for everyone.
Are there any games that use Gameworks and an AMD tech like TressFX or Mantel?
I didn't say it was based on any fact, it is based on the way he comes across in his PR videos. It's my imagination, and you can't take it away from me.
The only thing I said that was grounded in reality was that the flack he gets for the switch comment is stupid.
Share play isn't Gaikai, as you are streaming direct from another user's PS4. Perhaps you mean they had some proprietary compression techniques that Sony are taking advantage of?
Well sure, but I'm terrible at Battlefield :(
Ha Major Nelson. I imagine if you actually handed him an Xbox controller he'd hold it upside down for a good 5 minutes before figuring out what it does.
All of that "can't just flip a switch" flack he gets is dumb though.
The leaked SDK documentation detailed some quite extensive changes to the way system features on the shared resource OS (like parties) interact with software on the exclusive resource OS (ie games).
Quite a big reduction in calls between the separate operating systems, so hopefully quite a big reduction in problems. I don't know if it'll make a difference for games already out though.
I give them the benefit of the doubt and assume my British humour doesn't travel well. Or I'm just not funny.
Glad someone recognised it was a joke though lol
I might give it another look. The PC release was ruined by the poorly implemented phasing and it was generally quite under-whelming, but hopefully those problems have been addressed and the visuals should stand up OK for a console game.
It is a better game than Final Fantasy XIV imo, and will probably just about stand as the best MMORPG available on consoles until Everquest launches.
Only the outside is plastic mate. Crack it open and you'll find a wealth of silicon and vibranium, maybe some jellybeans. Definitely worth fighting about.

Oles Shishkovstov: Let's put it that way - we have seen scenarios where a single CPU core was fully loaded just by issuing draw-calls on Xbox One. Then, the same scenario on PS4, it was actually difficult to find those draw-calls in the profile graphs, because they are using almost...
