Are you also quite happy to accept that you have no ownership or rights to play the games that you have bought?
A lot of the people posting to support these lifetime bans have previously been adamant that we should fight against any publisher that tries to encroach on our consumer rights. Now suddenly they're happy to see publishers have total control over our ability to play our own games.
Personally I've accepted online only games and all the r...
Resetting the account is no real deterrent at all, where perhaps a complete ban might actually stop some folks from cheating in the first place.
Having said that, the ability for a publisher to revoke access to a game we have purchased is dubious territory. I don't like cheaters at all, but I do understand people consider they have the right to play games that they have bought, and this kinda proves that right is an illusion at best.
So you're saying we should compare the Xbox One Scorpio to the nVidia card with the closest number of teraflops, because you like Uncharted 4?
There are 4 types of logic. What you just said is not one of them.
A 980TI performs at 5.6tflops, but that doesn't mean an AMD GPU running at 6TFLOPS offers that level of performance. The Fury cards sit at over 8tflops, and 980TI frequently out-performs them.
I'm not trying to damn scorpio as weak or anything, it just makes more sense to compare the rumoured specs against other AMD hardware if we're trying to guage performance. Basically supporting your point.
@Ultranova Windows is an open platform, Sony could publish whatever drivers and software they want for the DS4. They would have to pay a pittance to Microsoft if they wanted WHQL certification or something, but that's optional.
Aren't they run by Gamestop?. So with a shiny tinfoil hat on, Gamestop could have a mandate to promote console versions over PC versions. Or at least not emphasise the opposite. I don't think Overwatch has a physical release on PC (and even if it does, PC gamers don't really buy such things).
Or more likely it's just a minor drama over nothing.
Eh? How do you suppose anyone measures the difference in sales of a game with or without DRM?
You can't, but despite that you see fit to use the success of The Witcher 3 as your barometer. As if arguably the best game of the last 3 years wouldn't have sold well if it had DRM?
Plenty of publishers are using Denuvo, and you can be damn sure that they care more about the sales than about spiting you.
It's an impressive card, and a big step up for the mid-range. I'm looking forwards to seeing what AMD have to offer with Vega.
That depends on how you quantify content. Playstation 2 games shipped on DVDs, and rarely filled them to capacity. In many cases we are in fact buying twice the amount of data now.
Obviously I'm not suggesting we should pay per megabyte, but the inflated amount of data does represent a lot of additional work that developers and artists are putting into these games.
Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that the way games are developed and priced n...
Cool, then I could finally fulfil my lifelong dream of making a spreadsheet. Make it happen, Microsoft!
If they had launched earlier or later it's pretty likely that the Overwatch Beta would still have coincided with any date they chose. I'm a fan of Blizzard, but they do have a fairly vindictive habbit of using their stature to suffocate any fledgling rivals to their games.
Surely you mean bubble up for "hilarious"
AMD cards push higher tflops than nVidia cards. Tflops are not the be-all-end-all of performance.
If you are talking about the xbox slim, it probably means HDMI 2.0 and perhaps the latest codecs for Netflix and Youtube.
A brand new console? Sold! I'd have been happy if it was just a pack of stickers I could whack on my current xbox.
Console that fits in the palm of your hand!*
*Power block, hard drive, APU, memory, and 84% of the silicon are separately housed external components
What's in a name? If the same games are playable on the base (and slim) One then it's a new approach to a console release, regardless of the name or number..
Titan X? Consoles are AMD. A Fury Nano pushes 8.2 Tflops, and those are £350-£400. 6TFlops on their 14mm finfet will be cheaper than that.
I don't see why the premuim model of the console needs to be as cheap as £400 anyway?
Those are supposedly 2 different consoles.
40% smaller is the slim, a refresh of the current hardware
4x power is scorpio, a new premuim/enthusiast version (elite?) that will be sold alongside it.
I play almost everything on PC, anf i bought ovrrwatch on PC. Then I tried playing it with a controller just to see how it handles, and ended up buying the xbox version. Consoles were the primary consideration for the gameplay imo, even if Blizzard pay their PC fans lip service.
Then I got bored and stopped playing. Best £80 i ever regretted spending!
