Aye you make some good points about hype. To be honest the hype is the most worrying thing about Killzone 2. The first Killzone was hyped to high Heaven and then when it was released and couldn't iron the reviewers clothes in the morning and make them toast they ripped it to shreds, and I don't want to see a repeat of that. Plus there's so many other games coming out soon that I think we can afford to take some time away from scrutinizing Killzone 2 to check out the rest of the titles on offe...
And I'm just saying that with your attitude of "Hate until proven wrong" is a little narrowminded. We should at least try and hope that a game will be good and not doubt it outright, unless the previews repeatedly point out a game-killing flaw. And I'm not saying whether Bioshock was overrated or underrated, it was one of the best first person shooters last year in my opinion, but I'm sure I'll have people disagreeing with me.
And as for minding my own business, this is...
Boy, aren't you cool...
360degrees does make a good point about hype being a double edged sword, but you just come across as an arrogant prick. I tend to not believe the hype and when a game gets huge amounts of hype and preview praise(see Halo 3, Bioshock, and Killzone 2) it just makes me more skeptical, rather than getting me excited for the title in question. However, I won't go and hate on any game for no reason.
EDIT: Just to clarify, Killzone 2 is one of the t...
Yes, and that's something that has been held against pretty much the whole series. But the people who criticize it and consider it game killing are most likely the kind of people who wouldn't enjoy the game that much anyway. It's like criticizing Halo for having too many guns to appeal to fans of Cooking Mama(now that I think of it, does such a creature exist?)
I have to disagree with this article to some extent. The reason for doing so is the basis on review scores mostly. For a game to get 10/10 nowadays, and "deserve" it, it has to have obscenely good graphics, excellent gameplay, longevity(usually in the form of multiplayer, which itself must be tweaked and tuned to be as good as possible), a good plot, and overall good value. I disagree with that view really. Above I listed GT5:P, Killzone, and MGS4 as my favorite games of all time, a...
Just chill out man. Both games were overhyped in their own ways(don't think I'm saying either is bad, as MGS4 is on my top games of all time, second only to GT5:P and Killzone). MGS4 was a long winded game(this isn't a problem for many people like myself though) and the multiplayer servers disconnect all the time, and Konami has a horrible habit of nickel-and-diming for everything(paying for a second character slot?!?! Or new quick messages?!?!). Meanwhile, Halo 3 had a HORRIBLE single player...
Amen man. People listen to review scores far too often. I too have picked up many games that were, shall we say, not well appreciated by the gaming critics, and found some of the best fun there is. Games like Croc(I liked it, be quiet:P), Killzone, Lair, and Two Worlds were all games that I enjoyed immensely, and I am sure I'll find many more that I enjoy that others may not.
However, with games being $60 a pop, I can understand why reviews would make people hesitant to buy a gam...
While I agree that some PS3 fanboys behave amazingly stupid, your comment about 360 owners being too busy playing games to comment is a bit hollow, seeing as how morons like Power of Green and certain others are still trolling around. But that being said, neither console has a huge advantage over any of the others, and I'm sure that the 360 has a lot of life left, more than many people would have you think.
Agreed. There is a huge amount of potential in this game for the sequel to be mind blowing.
Even if it isn't, they didn't say it was a real problem, I doubt a hiccup is going to ruin the experience.
I'm not sure, maybe he got mistaken? He was talking about LittleBigPlanet having a pay system awhile ago, and we havn't heard any more about that, so...
I'm curious about that as well. Out of all the things I've heard about Heavy Rain, the tech demo visuals being better than the game visuals is not one of them...
And Halo 3 should be discounted and sold for $40, like Warhawk, since it only has Multiplayer going for it.
:)
I'm kind of curious about that too. Maybe it costs more or something.
Too bad its not coming to North America, and it's a Limited Edition only.:(
Controlling the head and shoulders is the same as "turning" your character, and pressing R2 makes you go forward. This was done to make sure you don't suddenly switch directions and get disoriented when the camera changes.
EDIT: Lol @ disagrees. So that's not how the game controls after all? I'm fascinated, please enlighten me. And the IGN preview is as good as any, so I don't see why anyone should disagree with Fishy either.*sigh*
There is a jump button, Edge made a mistake.
Call me crazy, but I actually liked how when you moved the camera would shake, it made it 10 times more immersive for me, but that's just me. Immersion is the main reason why I could forgive Killzone for it's faults(it is still one of my favorite shooters). Despite all the flaws, that game could suck you in like almost no other game can manage, which earns it many extra points immediately, and the sequel looks like its only going to heighten that immersion, which is why it's one of my most an...
Agreed. Apart from Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2 would be the greatest surprise of the bloody year as far as I'm concerned.
You're welcome to believe that Killzone 2 will be a mediocre title, to each his own, and I whole heartedly agree about Dead Space and Mirror's Edge having the potential to be brilliant. However, Gamesradar are ignorant morons, and their 'review' is quite stupid, seeing as how they slag off the controls, while basically every other person who has played it has praised the game for playing very well.
And Cahill, you're not helping the case by lashing out at people. No offense inten...
