Reads like a PR piece. Plus many of the titles in this "stellar line-up" are Kinect titles.
Honestly, I trust Bioware less and less these days. And not just because of EA's acquisition and the DA2 debacle, but the clear shift in streamlining the ME franchize for a wider audience.
Ray's awkward presentation today doesn't help either ("ME is a classic, high-octane game!")
Does he? Then thanks for saving me the time watching this. I find him incredibly boring to listen to. He can talk all day without saying anything meaningful.
Indeed, well said.
"Todd Howard has said that making unscripted non-player character interaction feel natural is a trick Bethesda still has trouble with."
I'm more worried about the bug-ridden mess they've sold me before (Fallout). I will think twice, or at least hold off, before getting this one.
I love Gamespot's math. The Sony numbers come out to 102%, and Microsoft to 98%. Well done, boys.
At any rate, Sony comes out ahead. No surprise there. Well earned.
Kotick writes the shortest shallow response of them all, and there's still two grammatical mistakes. Guy's just phoning it in.
True creativity indeed. Thank god for smaller, risk-taking studios like thatgamecompany.
Journey is at the top of my 2011 list. Can't wait for this.
Of course, if there's a website out there to connect Sony and a bomb, it's the great Kotaku.
He said the same thing during the GiantBomb E3 interview with Gerstman and co.
It's great to hear non-PR talk from devs--very refreshing. I wish more spoke up like Jaffe.
I never really care for betas but I want into this one!
Just finished the evil campaign (and got my first platinum!). What a game. And damn those icemen!
Best game I'll probably play all summer.
To me it has always seemed that this gen, it's become fashionable among the media to hate on Sony despite their successes.
Price, controller, online, PSN, etc. are constantly used to take a dig at Sony, despite their unrivalled software lineup.
With unrivaled first-party studios it's of little surprise.
Just wish we could have seen some more from Team Ico!
And Journey has my undivided attention.
You're not alone. A LOT of gamers had a strong dislike for ME2 and much preferred ME1 (just visit the NeoGaf forums).
The recent MP announcement has lowered expectations even further.
Such a great game. Just finished the good campaign. Now for evil...
I'm not big on open-world, comic books or superheroes, but goddamn this game is fantastic.
My god what a mind-numbing set of questions.
"Any new weapons"? Jesus.
She's actually on this week and rolled her eyes several times about Kinect. Very refreshing to see somebody question it unlike so many other pro- MS media people.
I thought the exact same thing when Sessler said that (lately he's said a lot of questionable stuff). It's far too simple-minded. As somebody pointed out above, Sony does make a lot of money off PSN. And as OP says, there are many other variables to consider here.
I would expect such statements from IGN or Kotaku people, but not Sessler,
I wish I were wrong too. I absolutely adored ME1 (despite some technical issues and rough shooting mechanics). ME2 was polished as hell, but I'm one of those guys who feels that the scaling back on the RPG stuff made it a shallow experience. Plus there were too many characters.
And just taking a look at the character changes in ME3 (and that awful new dudebro armour--remember how beautiful and sleek Ashely's armour was?) makes me even more nervous.
