Okay, so like the cars are really shiny.. the roads are really empty... the buildings look okay. The sun is REALLY bright (honestly that would get annoying to see that flicker all the time)...
BUT...
The grass is still flat, the bushes and trees look stupid and there's still a ton of pop in.
Also, why don't they show any car damage or player models?
I've grown really tired of every game these days being a first person shooter (or first person perspective). Where are all the platforming games? Where's the adventure games. We have a few Tomb Raider games, Uncharted and InFamous, but I feel like there aren't enough of those types of games.
I guess I like exploring more than I like just killing wave after wave of enemies. Seriously I get so bored with games like Crysis 2 where I have to get to a checkpoint, but o...
Crysis 2 for PS3 looks better than Battlefield 3 for PS3. Also, there's no screen tearing whatsoever on Crysis 2.
I'm liking it. It doesn't seem messy at all. It's actually quite good. Sometimes I wish melee was faster, but meh, oh well.
It took me a couple of days, but I'm starting to do better in MP.
I refuse to watch it. Doesn't anyone want surprises?
Has anyone else noticed that they've completely removed motion blur in the Subway multiplayer promo game?
I remember vividly that the beta had motion blur and even commented on it. Then when the new multiplayer came out, I noticed the motion blur was gone... so I went back and found some beta footage and low and behold... motion blur is there.
For example: Look at this

Regardless of what anyone says, if a beta is open to the public, people say to themselves "Awesome! Here's my chance to play the game and see if I like it enough to buy it when it comes out!".
Even though I know darn well what a beta is used for, I gathered enough information from the beta to know that I'm not going to like the final product because I doubt the gameplay is going to change very much from beta to final. Also, I can't imagine the graphics a...
That came out of nowhere! We will miss you a lot Steve! You were an inspiration to the world.
This doesn't mean anything. There's obviously going to be a successor to the 360 at some point... This is just showing that it's the future.
You misunderstood me. The PS4 will be a next gen system with a lot more ram, way more powerful GPU and SPUs, but I think they should keep the core hardware the same so that it doesn't have to emulate anything for old PS3 games to run on 'em. Then, when you stick in a game like Infamous 2, you'll get really good framerates because that game is not capped to 30fps only.
I'm strictly talking about backwards compatibility.
I want the PS4 to be a much faster version of the PS3. Then, those games that didn't have frame-caps, would play as fast as they can on the PS4.
It would be nice wouldn't it?
Plus, what about those games that tear when the framerate goes too low? Without the framerate going too low on the PS4, the game will no longer tear. Seems to me like a win-win.
I hope that's what Sony does with the PS4. However, I'm sure they'll find...
He's absolutely right!
Years from now I'll look back at Uncharted and Infamous and remember all the good times I had with those games.
His game sucks though.
If DICE actually really thought that people would seriously consider this as "only a beta", then DICE acted pretty stupid.
Betas these days are like playable demos to most people. You can't go around touting your brand new graphics engine with real time this and post-processing that for a year and then give the people this piece of crap to try out.
With only a month left to go, people are using this beta as an opportunity to find out if they wan...
So you're saying they started playing Black Ops commercials directly after Modern Warfare 2 came out? I doubt that very much.
Any ideas on when the Mac version is coming out?
The PS3 version tears more, but the 360 version tears a very little bit.
Hubba hubba!
Has anyone noticed that it looks as if the motion blur has been greatly reduced or completely missing from this?
I remember quite vividly lots of post-processing motion blur in the UC3 beta.
Thoughts?
I don't care what the engine is "doing" bro. If it looks good, it looks good.
Crysis 2 was touted as a 100% real-time engine... meaning nothing in the game is pre-baked... that's great and all, but why does it look worse than Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2?
You can talk all day about what a game engine is doing behind the scenes, but if what is on screen doesn't look pleasing, then they effed up in my opinion.
I don't feel like I'm looking through the eyes of the person when I play FPS games. I feel like I'm controlling a camera with a gun mounted to it.
I'd rather see who I'm controlling since I'm not actually holding a gun. I'm holding a controller and I'm controlling a virtual puppet to do what I want it to do.
If I want to roll, I can see myself roll... I like that visual feedback.
Plus, most FPS games don't ...
