It's just like Digital Foundry, only more meticulous.
Very interesting analysis from the Insomniac dev. I love to see things like this!
@ Solid
Like many, you're too presumptuous. You 'may' (and I mean may) be correct, but anything you've thought of Infinity Ward have already thought of. They're way ahead of you. This isn't to say we should blindly accept everything, but they're developers, and you're, well, an armchair commenter.
"I see this as an attempt to populate the online servers for Xbox users by the way."
What do you use to 'see' with? It's as easy to find games on Xbox Live as it is on PSN. The user base may be lower on Xbox Live, but it isn't 'THAT' low - you're being dramatic.
You're trying to paint cross-play as remedy for what you think is a severely small Xbox Live user base, when in reality, this isn't the case at all - ...
@ Falcon.
READ. THE. ARTICLE.
The developer confirms that this won't happen.
"The developer linked an article from Forbes which stated that players will only do battle with their respective input - controller vs controller and keyboard + mouse against keyboard + mouse."
He's not right - he's wrong.
Shit, you'd think someone would want to read the explanation from the devel...

Oh brother.
It's not just Captain Price (though he does have clout) it's the entire Modern Warfare vibe. The game's tone was serious with haunting venues like Pripyat, and you actually cared about some of the characters as well. Then of course was the no-nonsense multiplayer that was simpler yet a lot more fun, imo. Better story, better characters, and better multiplayer. No bloated menus with nonsense piled upon nonsense. No loading player profiles. No bullshit. Now... it's ALL bullshit....
Agreed, but Sony could always informally (yet officially) release game play from upcoming titles. They could easily compete with Microsoft's conference from the side without being involved at all. Why not show some more footage from Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us 2? These two games are more anticipated on their own than anything Microsoft is showing.
Some people may find it less exciting that way, but I don't. That Death Stranding trailer got me pumped. Yeah, ...
If this game doesn't offer the most immersive space dump we've ever taken, there's definitely going to be some anger, and it will be justified.
The only thing that's "disturbing" is this person's outlook.
COD4 MW, Black Ops 1, COD MW2. No particular order.
Yep.
They're totally flipping this thing and I absolutely love it.
He's slippery? Hard to get? Who knows; who cares? Soap is a cool name, and we like him.
Set pieces, explosions, and near misses can actually be great if they're earned, and they shouldn't be peppered generously throughout the game for 'awe' factor - agreed.
I'm hoping for a solid, emotion-heavy campaign, and of course a great multiplayer. I hope they lay off the cheesy rap when they're advertising the multi-player as well. Music that is severe in tone would be much better.
I don't buy Call of Duty that often, but when I do, it's this one. I'm officially impressed by everything I've heard so far. Unless something changes in the coming months to derail that impression, I'll remain on track to buy this one.
Honestly, if it could match my Keurig that would be great.
If someone is adept with M+K they're only downgrading their potential by switching to a controller. It is known.
It's a decent game - wouldn't say I'm having a 'blast' but the combat is fun and the gun play is unsurprisingly top notch.
Though this is not of primary concern, I wish the game had better image quality on console; I think 1440p would have been doable, but I'm not the developer so I don't know. They had their reasons for prioritizing what they did and I'm sure it was in the best interest of the player.
