I was at the show with some of my co-workers and by all means it wasn't as kakkoii as it used to be. Right now the games that are kicking are pretty much handheld games. Japanese gaming culture still hits up the Arcades and are always on the go, so portables are a must from Keitai's to DS/PSP.
By the way Dir En Grey is an awesome band.
Especially when you go back to Shadow Moses and the music starts playing, It brought back some gaming memories from back in the good ol gaming days.

The UnReal engine is starting to show its age a bit. I can see some minimal updated tweaks, but nothing new is being brought to the table. Thats why you see studios bringing up their in-house game engines instead of paying a good chuck for UnReal. I did find the water particle effects look more like a blob or goo-ish type material rather then liquid splashing material and creating some water mist effects(Could it be the video quality?). I brought my PS3 from the States with me to Japan, But I been wanting to buy a White PS3 JPN Sku so I can play some missed PS2/PS1 titles too, so hopefully a nice bundle comes out here.
I understand your angst but to be honest we have to wait and give it time. It is hard to code and that goes especially for the PS3. A perfect example are Warhawk when it was released, heck even Metal Gear Online.
A patch can solve the issue, but that same patch can cause some other errors so that's why it takes time to release a good patch that wont backfire in counter form.

But good job on that. Its funny how "PR mass communi"(Media in Japanese) gets interpreted by over seas media. Konami will release some form of rendition of the Metal Gear Series to the X360 crowd but not MGS4.
Even Kojima said he's had enough of this MGS4 coming to 360 rumors.
He even mentioned if indeed MGS was to go to another console, He nor Kojima production would have nothing to with it.

I like the combo crazy assaults people did in MVC2 game. But I liked the SNK vs Capcom series more. SVC 2000 and 2001 games where really making dream matches come true. I want those so really bad, brings back great gaming memories.

I am surprised none has mentioned that the art style and character design are from Hyung-Tae Kim. He works for NC Soft now, before that he worked on Softmax. Magna Carta/War of Genesis titles too. The game looks very promising like other builds but since it is only being tested on Korean region on PC only format. I wonder how well that will do. Lineage 2 is popular as all heck out there too.
I think its a great break away method from the "WOW look at the graphics" factor. Even if its the story being told in 2D, its a great change in atmosphere in the game. I have to say they have a great art direction where they are taking this.
This trailer was not even in HD format so quality gets reduced. The animation models are what they are because its a movie. I would like to know more info on the team that Sony and Capcom put together for this film tho. That would pretty much tell you everything you need to know about the visuals. Plus it could change with in the next 5 to 6 months. I don't expect it to come out in the fall, maybe for the holidays.

Konami's series of Rhythm games was popular as all heck back in the late 90. Tho this was only a Japan phenomenon the other regions didn't get to experience.
Example, if you created a battery that could power up a house for one year. Having that being a success for only a small region. Later on down the road a big company brings out the same thing worldwide and is successful. When you were the one that created it first? Would you not be angered? Would you not sue and let that go...
For them to take action on this scenario. Since like the late 90's Konami has been one of the leading developers in rhythm games (e.g. GuitarFreaks, DrumMania, Beatmania.) Its no surprise they should of done this a long time ago.
Yes I do agree with you. This has been a title the PS2 has had and its long running iterations have been by far a great online experience. I am surprised that I played it and was still fully played.
I am more surprised why this has yet to be released on the PS3. It would of been a great launch title for players to make their transition over to a PS3. oh well i guess.

I know hobby's and such are expensive and if you like them you will do anything to acquire them.
But are you guys ok that game consoles and game prices have gone up. I know that the cost of living has eventually gone up at a faster rate then any one expected. But to the major audience who are gamers is it really justified that games have become more expensive?
