Cant wait to see what this engine can do with second and third generation titles being made with it. Ground textures look amazing, usually the weakest part in other games but here they look really, really good.

Hopefully this continues and they're able to put out patches this fast once the final release hits the stands. But my guess is that since this is a beta, they're able to get away with pushing patches out the door faster than they can for retail games.

Neither console has a murder's row of exclusives to drop this holiday season, but I'd give a slight edge to Sony because they have more high profile first party titles (SOCOM, LBP, Motorstorm, R2) compared to Microsoft's high profile exclusives (Gears & Fable 2). But I'd still say Gears of War 2 is gonna sell the most units of everything coming out this holiday season unless LBP catches with the main stream audience.

But I definitely wouldn't say Sony has the momentum beca...

Theres more pages to this story right? Cause I was reading the scans and the story just cuts off on the last scan they have posted. Seems like there is another page or two.

I think I'm done looking at media for this game, just want to experience it for the first time when I actually have the game in my hand. I think I'm going on a media blackout for all the games I'm looking forward from this point forward, except for some of the ones I'm skeptical about, for those I'll definitely check out reviews.

Day one for me though, going to vote then it's straight to wherever to pick up Resistance 2.

"I think the official comment was that the London studio decided to shift its focus from 'hard core' games to 'lifestyle' games and that Eight Days did not fit into the budget for the next financial year.

To be honest, it would have been easier to accept it's cancellation if the game wasn't very good."

That's a comment to the video from the lead animator, anyway you slice it they are no longer developing hardcore games at the London Studio. It was one y...

Do you really think parents are gonna shell out for the eyetoy, eyepet and ps3? Sorry but that's a pretty big investment to become mainstream and casual.

On the lead animators youtube account, where the video comes from, he says it was cancelled and they were basically told London Studios were now concentrating on social/casual games from here on out.

Like I said on the other posts, they canned this for EyePet?

They let a potentially great first party game get canned for EyePet, something that will ultimately fail like the rest of the EyeToy products. And these are the types of decisions that put you in third place.

Plus, it was a year out. If they put up with it for 2.5 years, don't you think they could of bit the bullet and waited one more year? It could of been a genre making title and could of brought onli...

What's even worse is the fact it was set to come out Summer of 2009, and was a coop third person shooter, and they had already worked on it for 2.5 years.

I don't understand how you can scrap a game a year away from release and go forward with something like EyePet. Seriously they left a potentially huge first party title fall into the trash can for something that won't sell like the rest of the Eyetoy stuff. These are the kinds of decisions that put you in third place.

I think Getaway and Eight Days will be resurrected once they get other things out the door like that EyePet game and Home.

But after seeing the animations for this game, it's really disappointed the game was put aside.

So can other military shooter devs sue other military shooter devs for copyright infringement?

Cause this is just as stupid as that would be. And last time I check nobody holds the copyright to Greek mythology.

I'm sick of these "It sold ####% more now with the price cut" type things because in the end.. hardly anything changes. I've seen it with the PS3 articles and you'll see it here again. These types of articles are for chest pounding fanboys.

How many Playstation exclusives went multiplatform? Oh yeah, that's right almost all of them. You forget the Final Fantasy announcement? Just because something is exclusive doesn't mean it's staying exclusive.

Like I said, the deal was for the first game to be exclusive with Microsoft having first rights to the sequel if they made one. That's it.

Unless Microsoft wants to dump a ton of money in front of Epic it will probably go multiplatform to open an untapped...

An exit from the gaming industry could be a shareholder decision, not something from their own home entertainment division.

The division has been a sink hole for money and finally after six years of venturing into the console gaming market, they turned a profit on the whole thing at the beginning of this year.

Gears of War is lucky to have been made from what I read. Nobody wanted to fund the game except Microsoft and Epic didnt have the money to undertake the game on their own. So in return they obviously got the exclusive along with the first rights to the second game.

Gears of War 3 is completely up in the air as to which platform(s) it will show up on. If Microsoft can pay enough to make the decision of cutting out potential PS3-only customers bearable then you'll see it stay on ...

It's not a new Microsoft studio, it's their own studio. Why would you need an agreement for post-release support for Halo Wars if Microsoft was just making another development studio with them?

Microsoft is closing the doors, they're leaving to make a new stuido and have agreed to support Halo Wars, and have agreed on future projects with MGS down the road.

It'd be like if Sony walked in and told Santa Monica "Hey we're closing the doors once God of War 3 is...

The way I take it. Microsoft shut down Ensemble and some of them decided to venture out and open a new stuido and agreed to support Halo Wars post launch from their new studio, as well as work on other projects with MGS. But at the same time, this new studio will be independent.
