Nice, the new Sony memory sticks use the Microsoft-created exFAT filesystem. The main advantages of exFAT in comparison to the old FAT32 are the removal of the 4 GB file size limit so that one can a load video file, for example, many gigabytes in size.

Rage (ID TECH 5 engine) is primarily based on OpenGL, which is what the PS3 uses. Yet, the underpowered PS3 graphics chip is struggling to even hit 30 FPS with RAGE.
Considering that ID TECH 5 is arguably the most advanced graphics engine that will power a number of future titles, this is not good news for the PS3.

One of the guys that wrote the Cell performance tools for Sony is programming the PS3 version of Rage. Carmack said this last year.

Darkeyes,
RAGE will look at least half as good as Uncharted 2, so you might as well get rid of your PS3. Whether it will look as good or better as Uncharted 2, I simply don’t know. I know RAGE will run at twice the graphics speed (60FPS vs. 30fps Uncharted2). That is a fact.
It all depends on the game: I argue that most games will run better on the 360 hardware because of the more powerful GPU and more “available” memory (these are the bottlenecks in current game development). M...

SuperStrokey1123,
If John Carmack, the most famous graphics programmer in history, says the PS3 GPU doesn't have the capability of the 360 GPU, then, by all accounts, it is true.

ThatCanadianguy420,
John Carmack, also complained (along with countless other developers), that the PS3's lower amount of available RAM is a problem. The PS3's O.S. sucks up over 70 megabytes of RAM, whereas the 360 uses around 30 MB. Also, only 256 MB is available for graphics memory, where...

Yup, the PS3's graphics chip just can't output the kind of graphics quality of the 360GPU. The low amount of PS3 RAM is also hurting this game.

ID software also has one of the guys that programmed a lot of the PS3 performance tools for Sony working on the game.

Oh great, the PS3's firmware/OS is still a bloated POS.

It doesn't make sense for them to flush more money down the toilet on this game. They have to look forward.

It's amazing that, even in this economic recession, they are actually growing. The 360 can easily last more years. Sony may have to ask the Japanese government for a "bailout."

This will probably contain shrunken Cell & RSX graphics chips. A .45nm Cell and a .40nm RSX graphics chip.

Elder Scrolls V with ID Tech 5, Im calling it first.

don't worry about the graphics as much this time...try to make a game that is actually fun to play for an extended period of time.

from the article:
Kojima Productions even promise that Metal Gear Solid: Rising will end up looking better than Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Considering the underpowered Wii is still around, the 360 can definitely last

Considering all previous Capcom games on the PS3 are inferior graphically compared to the 360, lets hope LP2 on PS3 is done good this time.

Considering this will probably be one of the biggest games released on the PS3 the year it comes out, PS3 fans better hope it is a good game.

dam..that is expensive. Needs to come down at least $50

It will come to the PC most likely. Sucks that you will have to pay monthly to play it though. No thanks

With the Metal Gear franchise announcement, looks like Microsoft locked up this year's E3. The Metal Gear games always get better and better. I hope Metal Gear Rising continues this improvement.
