Wii sells 1.4 million
PS3 sells 619k
360 sells 594k
To really be truthful, a lot of non-casual gamers really couldn't care less if the Wii comes in first or last. Its not a system I'd like to own, and it appeals to an entirely different audience than the 360 and PS3. We're comparing sales between a Honda Civic, a Dodge Viper, and a Porsche Carrera. Of course the Civic is going to sell more. I'm in the market for a sports car though.
You didn't read correctly. The Wii outsold the 360 by over double in weekly sales for North America.
Considering PS3 outsold the 360 Worldwide again, I don't think you're looking at the bigger picture here Mart.
Just curious, but do you know how expensive a good guitar is?
Here's a hint, its a heckuva lot more than a PS3 and a few games.
Errrrm, considering how gigantic the levels are in UT3 compared to Gears...
Should be a nice power-draw for there cards, as well as the heat and noise, this might be the best way to get a PC rendering at those newer insanely high resolutions they've been planning for next-gen monitors.
Apparently, PS3 owners like Assassin's Creed more than 360 owners.
Its sold 1.5 million on 360
and almost 1 million on PS3.
Meaning ~1 in 7 PS3 owners bought the game, while ~1 in 10 360 owners bought it. That's very interesting for the system with the smaller install base. Part of it seems to be the European sales.
Probably was in the optimization phase of development, and the publishers axed that to push it onto store shelves.
Its rumored to be running without usage of any of the SPE's. I'm surprised they didn't just devote a single SPE to loading assist. Would've solved quite a few problems. Same with the quicksave funkiness.
I don't think the devs are lazy. They want to make a game they're proud of. Its the suits/publisher, the ones paying the money to the devs in order to make the game saying "this needs to be out now and we don't care if its finished or not" who're to blame.
I've always loved PC gaming, but there's just something about the ease-of-gaming on a console that makes me love UT3 on the PS3. It just seems so much easier to pick-up and go than the PC FPS's that I used to play.
Its especially hard to tell anything on a SD video.
Its locked at 30fps. Its sort of what they've been saying at 1up. There's 30fps, as in, "we've been getting our way up there and it dips below every so-often" and then there's "locked at 30fps solid, like butter". This game apparently is the latter.
Looks like its back in-stock again.
It wouldn't really do much in multiplayer anyway, since you'd find yourself running to health laying around anyway. Its very rarely that there's a place to "catch your breath" online, since its so fast.
There's no split-screen coop. Its all online coop.
They're different types of games.
Do you think that soldiers in real life bunny-hop around like madmen and always shoot from the hip? CoD4 is a very realistic model.
UT3 is a very stylized-twitch model. They both have their place, and neither type is better than the other. Play what you prefer.

Different reviewers can give different scores. A 9 from one reviewer doesn't mean its equal to a 9 form another. I don't think there's as big a gap as you want to believe.
The arcade board is essentially a PS3. Its not like DMC at all, which doesn't have an arcade version.
that's an excellent point. While the PS3 isn't selling software on the scale that the 360 is, the average PS3 owner appears to be buying more software than the average 360 owner.
