Zelda used to be my favorite game franchise, but now it is Uncharted (Haven't played Last of Us yet). Naughty Dog has consistently produced some of the highest quality games and I look forward to playing more of their games in the future!

Nintendo is kind of the exception. Look I pre-ordered Battlefield 4 and I got a broken game. I returned it, waited 2 months for it go to on sale (PC) for $20. After some time they fixed the game, but why waste my time and money when I could be playing something that works.

I say Nintendo is the exception as they typically release quality games, however, I would not pre order one. As tempted as I was to pre order Mario Kart 8, I didn't, and I was still able to pick up ...

I am just waiting for a Halo Xbox One bundle to pick up mine. I am buying an Xbox mainly for the Halo Franchise.

Interesting article. I don't shop at Gamestop anymore, but it will be interesting to see how the increased competition affects the company. Pre-orders are a joke and digital sales are increasing in Volume, so I wonder what Gamestop will be doing in 5/10 years time.

Perfectly stated my friend. Even old NES games are amazing to play.

Im still amazed at how popular Team Fortress 2 is on Steam ranking up there with DOA 2. I'm not sure why, but I have logged over 1,000 hrs on this game and still finding myself playing when I have time to burn.

Granted consoles have PCs beat in terms of FPS online community, but these games are still fun non-the-less.

I'm going to take the wait and see approach to Splatoon. I am excited for Zelda as this is my main reason for a Wii U...well and smash brothers :)

Wow this is pathetic. Honestly both services allow you to save your password, and it is only a matter of time before a third party will create a service which will bridge all of the services together. It has happened with pidgin messenger for messaging, and it has happened with Mint.com for banking, and I am sure that something will come up to link all these gaming services.

By the way I don't complain because I can't play Halo on my Playstation or that I can't ...

@fr0sty, you realize that when you are buying a console, you are basically buying a disposable computer. Sure it costs more for the hardware in PC gaming, but the games are 50% - 70% cheaper on PC.

When your console life has ended, you will need to shell out more money for another console and hope that the new console has backwards compatibility to play your old games. PC gamers don't have to worry about this sort of thing, and we never have to deal with a device which ...

My main complaint is day-one patches. Gone are the days when you buy a completed game from the store. Now developers rush a game out knowing that it isn't complete because they can patch the game after it has been released. I am thinking of you Battlefield 4!

Then you go to Gamestop and they ask if you want to preorder a game?!? I stopped preordering games last generation and I wait for a couple of months before buying my new games.

Games are cheaper on PC. Sure you spend more money up front but once the initial purchase has been made everything else is just cheaper. No yearly fee to play online, steep discounts on new games, and emulators!!

I will concede though on two fronts. First Person Shooters has a larger online community on consoles (but I prefer single player), and sports games like NFL Football or NHL Hockey are missing.

As for exclusives, well I will be buying both an XBo...

Those are good builds. You shouldn't have problems playing games using those! Happy PC gaming!

It is shocking how small the Virtual Console library is for Wii U. Come on Nintendo, how hard can it be to release the Wii library for Wii U?

My only concern is these characters look like they can easily break. I know both the skylanders and disney infinity characters are breakable, but these look a whole lot more delicate.

In intelligent article, I wasn't expecting that here.

Its not just the graphics, but animations have also come along way along with in-game dialogue and sounds. Also look at the storage upgrades like CD, DVD, and Blu Ray. Over the generations we also have online multiplayer and cloud storage for games saves.

While it is cool to compare graphics over the years, really graphics only represents a small piece of the improvements over the years. I am guessing that this new "Shared Play" will also become a feature that ...

Oh the memories of mortal kombat through elementary school. My favorite console off all time has been the Dreamcast :)

Well it is not all bad. Origin users were given a free copy of Battlefield 3, Dead Space, Plants vs Zombies and Peggle. Hey I even got Titanfall on sale for $30 when it first released.

The problem that I have is that there is that they install a service on my workstation which runs constantly. It does nothing except scan my file system (allegedly) and if you stop it games are still playable. I am really concerned that Origin is spyware in disguise.
