I encourage you to watch the gameplay of Tom Clancy's The Division if you haven't already. That game is the definition of open. Technically, it's an MMO, but it's done in a way that feels like a huge step forward for shooters.
At least in my opinion.
Apple did it.

Actually Sony Bend is making it. I'm excited for the game, but I haven't exactly been blown away by their past games. Cautious optimism.
I doubt it. They never have in the past. Although, the stand has never been needed in the past, for me at least. Both my PS2 and PS3 stood up just find without one. I don't think I'd feel safe with PS4 though. It's too slim.
Sorry to take this off topic, but I have to ask, why do you want Ryse? There were some good looking games at the Xbox conference, but Ryse looked terrible to me. Biggest disappointment of the show by far. I just don't understand the appeal. It looked like a QTE-fest that constantly strips control away from the player. Press X to throat-stab.
Was it just a bad demo? Is there more to the game than what was shown? Or am I just missing the draw?
I'm not t...
Here's a close up to prove it.

I'm sorry to say it, but they have issued a statement on their blog.
"We also announced that PlayStation Plus memberships will carry over to PlayStation 4, so members will have access to all of the benefits across PS3, PS Vita and PS4 for one price. These benefits INCLUDE ONLINE MULTIPLAYER ACCESS, exclusive discounts, cloud game saves, and Instant Game Collection, which gives members a selection of games to discover and enjoy with their friends. Look closely on the front. I didn't see them at first either. They're in the vertical "crack" when the console is laying horizontally. The power button is on top and the eject is on the bottom.
If you still don't see them, follow the blue LED to the front of the console.
Okay, you're right.
PS4 (width x height x length)
27.5 x 5.3x 30.5 cm
Xbox One (estimated based on USB port size)
26.3 x 8 x 34.3 cm
The PS4 being thinner threw off my sense of proportion. Still, the PS4 doesn't have an external power brick. The Xbox One does. Considering the PS4 is higher spec'd, it's pretty impressive.
Big? One of the first things I thought was how small it looks. It has to be half the size of the Xbox One. I have no idea how they did it.
No. It will work like it does now. No DRM, no online, but the disc is needed.
However, contrary to what people are saying, I'm pretty sure all PS4 titles install to the HDD. Mark Cerny specifically mentioned this when he talked about PlayGo. So the 500 GB is going to go fast.
"PlayStation®4 system × 1
Wireless Controller (DUALSHOCK®4) × 1
Mono headset × 1
AC power cord × 1
HDMI cable × 1
USB cable × 1"
No camera. Headset and HDMI cables this time, though!
This was PC... But you're right, it may not have been Maxed out.
Well here's hoping they don't change the art style to gray and brown and make it realistic.
Or did they do that to Overstrike(Fuse) so they could make this?
It doesn't matter what timezone you're in, it's still the same amount of time until the conference starts...
The PS3 has a video editor on it, I believe (though I haven't tried it). The Xbox One will also come with one.
It would be strange if Sony didn't include one on the PS4. I also imagine they'll let you export a video file that you can take into an NLE on PC. Sony's philosophy seems to be pretty open.
Yeah! At least we can play used games on PC! Right?
...Right?
Sony will need to do some form of DRM because they've said games will install to the HDD just like the Xbox One. My guess is that Sony will require having the disc in the drive to play the game. So no "share with 10 family members from any console" and you won't be able to play games via "the cloud". However, you'll be able to do exactly the same thing you've been able to do every other generation (lend, sell, rent).
MS wants to go disc-les...
@wagnus
So... you're walking towards it?
I don't want to be "that guy", but this is vgchartz, so take it with a grain of salt. It may have sold worse, or it may have sold better.
But Naughty Dog deserves the sales. I'm hoping the game becomes their best seller yet. I'm picking mine up this weekend when I'm done with a work project!
