A bit sparse... I can probably live with 4 vs 4, but there better be some free map packs, because 6 is really low.

Edit: The information has been removed from Playstation.com now. There will probably be an official announcement soon.

Sony was destroyed, but not by Microsoft. Nintendo destroyed everyone.

MS was a close second last generation, and they're a close second this generation.

That said, if Sony ever wants America back, they're going to have to throw down the gauntlet to get people to leave Xbox Live now, no matter when they release. People have invested in their gamerscores, Arcade games, etc.

There's going to be a reluctance to leave all that even if...

You know what? I agree with this article. Any parent that buys any of these games for their kids is a horrible parent*.

Because all these games suck*. I wouldn't play them either.

*Bulletstorm being the notable exception (how did that get in there?).

Easy, MS is going to drop the price of the 360 (and maybe Kinect). Thus 2012>2011. You've got to read between the lines.

Uh, it's a retrospective.

I'm pretty sure that was axed. Sorry.

That would only be fun against AI. If you're the person being disabled, it won't be any fun. I just don't think it would fly in multiplayer.

Bad Company 3 would be more likely (though toned down, obviously), and I'm still not too sure that's probable. The next MS console probably won't launch until at least 2013.

"i bought an ipad 2 two weeks ago. 3 weeks later they announce th iPad 3"

I've read that several times now, and I still can't wrap my head around the math.

It's funny, if PC gamers weren't such snobs and played games at 720p and 30fps, their games would look a lot better than they already do.

The object of the game (in a nutshell) is to protect Ellie from being harmed. The bad guys are trying to kill both of you, and Joel is a type of father figure in her life. There won't be any media backlash because one of the main characters, who happens to be 14, can die.

Sora (who's like 12?) can die in Kingdom Hearts, and that's a much more kiddie game.

There's a difference between the player killing children (Fallout) and a child being able...

@slavish "Last time i checked the current ps3 doesn't support ps2 and ps1 software"

When was the last time you checked? Every PS3 can play any PS1 game, or at least 99.9% of them. Try it.

Anyway, backwards compatibility is nice for the future. If Sony stops making PS3s, and my PS3 breaks, I'd like to be able to play my back catalog of games that I've built up over the past 16 years.

Luckily, my PS2 still works and I have...

You're missing out, Uncharted 3 is excellent. It just has a slower start than Uncharted 2.

Very true, and that micro SD could be a class 10 and still be that price.

Sony's cards will hopefully come down in price with production.

So your reasoning is that in the region where the Vita is cheaper than anywhere else in the world (due to the weak dollar), Sony is going to make a profit from day one. However, in the region where the consumers are spending substantially more per device, it will take 3 years?

I think Mr. Rhode and Hirai-san were talking about two very different things. It is my belief that Scott Rhode was including the profits from software, whereas Kaz was talking about production costs. <...

"Of course, that's by no means pure profit. Very substantial labour, R&D, marketing and distribution costs all need to be taken into account too. Without a sneak peak at Sony's books, it's virtually impossible to ascertain exactly what proportion of the take-home is profit."

Straight from your article. Sony doesn't just wave a wand and millions of PS Vitas are produced for free (or for the exact amount of the sum of its parts, if you like). They ...

While this is true, I think the Vita could struggle in America until the really big names hit. I'm talking about Madden, Assassin's Creed, and of course, Call of Duty. There are great games coming out between now and then (and great games already out), but I don't think they have the pull to really bring people to the device in droves (in America).

But if Sony can get the PS3 AND the 360 crowd to jump in on a game like Call of Duty, the system will be a huge succe...

I don't think Sony can afford to have a price cut. They're losing money on every Vita sold. Unfortunately, Nintendo's price cut has undermined the value of Vita. If Sony had announced a higher price at E3 (say 300-350, or even 350-400), and then cut it right before launch, the media would be talking about the great value the Vita offers.

Instead, we get BS like this: "The price is steep for the hardware". Come on, Forbes, find me another portable with a...
