Suzuki participated in various open discussion panels, one of which was hosted by Cerny. But this GDC talk is the first solely about Shenmue he has ever done, as far as I know.

As I said above, I won't be disappointed if it's not Shenmue. I have a tendency to not get overhyped for any game, has proven to be dangerous in the past.

That OPM teaser in the last issue is a strong indicator that it's Shenmue they are teasing. The signs are there, after a decade of silence, the mind behind the game decides to talk about the game, out of the blue? And who's translating for him because he doesn't speak english? The man who has become the face of the PS4 last year. OPM came out on the 20th in February and January, the 19th in December, in short, around the same time GDC is happening this month. If they release the n...

I agree completely, PS4 would be the best choice. One of the reasons is I think most of the gamers who played Shenmue back in the day have since migrated to Playstation, and Playstation in general has been known to be a great platform for games who break the mold.

Also I remember reading that SEGA can't afford a Shenmue III on their own.

Sony should absolutely consider funding the project, bringing in some of their own developers on it as well to help out...

Nintendo must still feel haunted by the mistake they made 2 decades ago. Backing out of the CD addon deal for the SNES with Sony, which resulted in the birth of the PlayStation brand, crippled them beyond belief. Sony's gaming division has grown into a behemoth nobody could touch ever since. I agree with AceBlazer13, the PlayStation brand is no joke, it may have carried less weight than others in some territories last gen, overall it's still bigger than anybody else, which we saw at t...

I hope they aren't just making a big world, I hope they actually do something with it. Skyrim was plagued by nothingness as far as the eyes could see. The world was big, but between a few key points and concentrated "content patches", there wasn't much to see or do anywhere.

Gothic 1, 2 and 3 were amazing, bugs aside. They were smaller than Skyrim or Oblivion, yet the worlds were handcrafted, nothing looked like anything you've seen in another location. ...

So what? They supported the PS3 for 7 entire years, a few things are probably still to come from their in house studios. And if not, it's basically going to be the same situation as the 360 was in the last 3 years, without the next generation to even look forward to.

You say Sony needs to announce things for the PS3 but completely leave out Microsoft and 360 out of the discussion, which was the original topic of discussion in the first place.

You know, this has got to be the dumbest thing I read all week.

I can think of 6 exclusive games off the top of my head, 5 of which are first party, in 2013 that Sony released for the PS3 and I am sure I am forgetting some (Ni No Kuni, God of War: Ascension, The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, Gran Turismo 6, Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus). This was the 7th year of the PS3. 2 of them entirely new IP's, again 7th year. Microsoft released less games and only sequels in t...

League of Legends has the exact same community as Call of Duty, Halo, Dota, World of Warcraft and every other multiplayer game out there. It's just that League of Legends is bigger than all of them added together, that's why it seems like it's the worst out there, but percentage wise, it's the same as every other community.

I live in a small town in Germany (pop. ~20000), we have one decently sized electronics store here and someone I know who works there told me they have a preorder backlog of over 400 units, he said if I want to order one from them I'd be lucky to get one in February. He told me this one week after release. XBoxes are piled up. 360 sold decently well so they allocated a good sized order to this location, but they just don't sell.

But other than that, I too question the...

So then explain Chess to me, really I'd love to hear it. Are you going to sit here and tell me moving pieces on a board is physically demanding and requires regular excercise to remain active?

This is one of those nonsensical, philosophical debates like the one about video games and art. I do consider it a sport. Every activity that requires you to practice 60+ hours a week and is a viable career path is a sport in my book. The definition of sp...

The US recognizes League of Legends as a sport. The term may not be correct in the public eye, but the fact is the US government thinks it is and is actively issuing them out to pro gamers who seek to compete in tournaments on US soil. Dexter is not the first LoL pro player who went to the US, there are currently 5-6 players from Europe and one Chinese team in the US who are there to compete in League of Legends tournaments and leagues. I assume all of them on athlete visas.

Well the basic definition of a sport is a competitive game. Nothing says physical activity is a must for something be a sport. All I know is, these guys are training 8-12 hours a day, they fly all over the world in their sponsor-plastered team uniforms competing in tournaments for a whole lot of money, up to 1 million dollars worth of prize money actually. They have their own league and salaries. Also fact is that the Season 3 finale was held in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where fans m...

Congratulations, on the scale of "1" to "Waste of Oxygen" you achieved the highest score!

Your statement is so ill informed and idiotic. Sony said in 2007 that PSN will probably require a subscription in the future, they never said it will "never have one". It still doesn't for PS3 and Vita. Funny thing is it was actually Phil Harrison who said it, the same guy who works for Microsoft now.

Also Gaikai was acquired by Sony las...

What the hell are you talking about? You went off topic to prove a point where there was no point to make. The article is about the UK, not all the territories. And 70,000 x 2 is still not much. I don't know why you even brought up the 80 mil sales of the 360, because this figure has absolutely nothing to do with any of it, it's entirely irrelevant when talking about launch sales of the XBox One.

Sony launched in XBox land first to get a leg up, anyone with a slight u...

It's actually not absurd to suggest someone would buy the console and none of the retail games. You can have a ton of fun without paying anything beyond $399. You get $10 store credit, 1 or 2 smaller games can be bought with that. Then there is the free PS+ voucher with 2 PS4 games available already. The cherry on top are the numerous Free2Play games, some of which are already launched, some will be released shortly. War Thunder, Blacklight: Retribution, Planetside 2, Warframe, DC Univers...

From all I've heard/read about Knack, it seems like people still don't get who this game is targeted at. Mark Cerny said something like kids of ages 5-10, maybe even younger, should all be able to play the game on their own, that's why the puzzles aren't rocket science and the gameplay mechanics very basic. Motor skills aren't that far along for kids this age, also the controller is way too big for their hands to use all the buttons available. He said they "beta teste...

Sony said there is no online only and 24h check in February, at the reveal event... 3 months before we even knew what MS was up to. There were several interviews with a couple of Sony officials all responding with "no" when asked about DRM.

All your pointless post is saying is, that you are on the same level as the jackass who made the video.
