Playing the shitty poverty card now! These aren't some hard up low level devs scraping together an indie project. The people are making the money are the publishers, devs get paid regardless, unless it is now somehow tied to MT which I highly doubt. Why is this guy standing up for this soulless and destructive feature in modern gaming?
The" just don't buy it" toddler argument doesn't cut it! Meanwhile MT shit is shoved in your face. Battlefront 2, as s...
Downvotes are because you sound like a bitter and whiny person. I'm sure Nintendoeverything read your comment and felt upset about it.
And having the need to post a comment about your downvotes is laughable.
You're the ignorant one. Nobody even said we want a Chinese type market. You are making assumptions to justify a point you're trying to make.
Remember this, by law the Chinese government requires any game that has a gatcha/loot system to show percentage of obtainable loot. Blizzard followed that regulation only to find a loophole and didn't follow that regulation. So, tell me how much better is the Western market than the Chinese?
That excuse is still being used? It's a myth. Meanwhile publishers shove broken games out the door and maybe if it's worth their time patch it. Does that justify asking price for AAA games? Rather offering an experience gamers want and are willing to pay for they are more interested in what DLC, season passes and MT they can implement.
If they want to raise the prices of games then let them, they'll still add DLC, season passes and loot boxes. The sooner people...
It doesn't eliminate DLC in the slightest. Destiny 2 and Shadow of War have already announced plans for DLC and season passes.
Assassins Creed Origins is rumoured to have a lootbox merchant and you bet they'll it will have DLC.
Why does there need to a shitty compromise? For all crap COD gets it still sells millions of copies and season passes because fans of the game just want to keep playing it.
Fragmenting the user base seems like an excuse to add lootboxes at this point. If you couldn't buy power directly from the boxes and more skin based and cosmetic things then there people might be less angry.
I can't imagine within a few days of the game launching with some play...
What a cop-out by PEGI. Gamers are not asking the gambling commission to step in, they want gaming regulatory bodies to! If or more likely when this loot box BS goes too far it is the government that is going to step in hard.
Nintendo has always had hit and misses with different systems because they actually try different things each generation. The only innovative thing Xbox has done was bring online gaming to the mainstream for console gamers years ago. Yes, I know the dreamcast and then ps2 had online too but it was hardly mainstream and barebones.
I have no platform loyality and fortunate to own multiple systems. If the Xbox was leading this gen their stance would of been much different and aggressive. This is MS, they are corporate through and through Justin like Sony and Nintendo. They have to play nice as they have fallen behind significantly. Yes, it's nice that Phil wants all businesses to work together which I hope happens in the future.
Sony had to play nice during the PS3 era in the first few years as the...
Mattrick almost sunk the Xbox One before it even launched. The guy had to go!
There will probably be some kind of lobby group that big publishers will pay to say it isn't gambling and it isn't a problem.
You can basically buy power, which is the very definition of paying to win.
I hope you ask publishers to take you to dinner first before they screw you.
You are naive, aren't you! Publishers always play the poverty card saying how expensive it is to develop games. The base price has been $60, the industry just set it at that and it seemed it was the highest acceptable rate consumers were going to tolerate for a long time. Yet the same publishers who have MRSP of $60 for their base games at retail charge even more on console digital markets wher...
Didn't Epic game have Fortnite available as crossplay as a "mistake" briefly a few weeks back? I don't see how complicated it is when a developer made it available then quickly didn't!
Akihabara isn't in the Middle East!
The issue is the card system itself. It doesn't belong in the game.
Stop it with this it's optional BS argument! The cards clearly give players an advantage, EA knows full well people are going to buy them to get an advantage. What people have put up with is cosmetics in retail titles, but the p2w mechanics are creeping and creeping in major titles.
The arguments that you don't have to buy it or it's there as an option for players is also inexcusable.
Will wait for it to drop to $10 on steam. I'm not paying full price for a AAA with MT.
But instead of contributing to the discussion and pointing out the obvious you try to make a snarky remark.
The shareholders ARE EA. Everyone else that makes the games are scrubs. If EA even were half a decent company many of the studios they swallowed up over the years wouldn't have been shut down. So much talent as left that company.
