this f#cking country, man...

In a time when we need steps towards more rational, less absurdly restrictive videogame classification law...we get instead, STEPS BACKWARDS!

What statement?

What the hell does a review have to do with creating theories and collecting data.....?

A review is an impression and a set of likes and dislikes. Supporting statements are nice but they only provide insight into that OPINION which you may still disagree with.

No one has to validate their opinion when what they're writing is entirely in itself a personal opinion.

Just like I don't have to validate the opinion I'm writing right now. It doesn't matter how ...

People get too excited about reviews. A lot of people mistakenly think that they have the right to demand unbiased media be published at all times, when in fact no such right exists, and nor should it.

We have freedom of press. It ensures that people can publish really any opinion they feel like, no matter how biased, ridiculous, or downright obnoxious. Their freedom to do that is, and should be, protected at all times, because there's no form of media control which is not profou...

N4G comments make my head hurt...

What good is all this rivalry and inane big noting?

Just enjoy the game, screw the haters, live and let live.

Remember:
Step 1. Don't be a fanboy.
Step 2.
Step 3. Win.

I don't remember Bioshock ever losing points for not having co op.

Now our kids aren't even safe on the internet?!

Don't forget that if their vaginas don't appear to be sandy, people assume they aren't doing anything.

The trick is finding just the right amount of sand.

Online campaign co op would have been insanely cool in my book, but I can live without it.

If the multiplayer is geared for interesting and engaging teamplay (which it seems to be), it's all good :)

I'm pretty disappointed. I'm really surprised that this game doesn't appear to break from the mold of so many generic RTS games before it.

For example:
Squads of marines engage an enemy by standing in a pack, perfectly still, identical to one another, firing rounds at the enemies, who are also standing still, in the open, firing back...

360 fanatics will still call it a flop if it doesn't beat halo 3 sales :)

Just out of curiosity, what did Halo kill?

Don't forget that all consoles in Aus have online stores specific to this region as well. We don't pay an exchange rate for online games - they are a fixed price just like anything at retail.

Generally speaking, the increased prices are mostly equivalent too.

That's a story worth publishing in fact. Console/hardware prices are one thing, but the inflated prices we pay for online content are a joke. that's where only exchange rate should apply (not sure if GST catches...

hehe dozens of millions? That's generous.

We're two dozen million tops.

The country is a long distance from the other commercial epicenters around the world. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide are a long way apart and are the only urban regions with a noteworthy market attached. Change that to a HUGE way apart if you feel like including Perth and Darwin.

When you make shipments to the U.S and disperse that initial global freight outlay amongst hun...

You are correct I think...I looked up some news stories and I can see people reporting the drop to $300.

I've never seen that price anywhere personally, but that might just be because I saw bundles (One I saw was $350 including Fable II and Halo3 which I thought was pretty cool, apart from the no HDD).

If the 360 price drops any further I'll probably seriously start to consider one. Not that I don't already wish I had more free time to enjoy the PS3 as is...

Cheapest 360 package (arcade but with good bundled games - actually not bad) is $350.

And when I say not bad, I'm ignoring the fact that arcade is a stupid gimped SKU.

;)

Haha...

let me tell you, Autralia gets screwed for price on EVERYTHING.

It isn't just PS3.

I don't think Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, or any other particular company wants to squeeze more than a fair amount of money out of Australia. They're not out to get us...it's bad for business. Mostly our government, population size, and location is to blame for this kinda stuff.

But there are many factors at play.

Australia has a small popu...

I think I see what you're trying to say, but you have to see the other side as well.

No one here is happy to see people getting hurt, especially babies. It's a serious and extremely horrible thing.

The reason there is sarcasm and other similar responses is that gamers are sick of this kind of news getting attached to games. If a guy has gone around killing babies, it's because he's MESSED UP IN THE HEAD. End of story.

There's a snowballing dogmatic infam...
