IF GT5 comes out Forza 3 will be a hard competitor. But it really does not matter since they are on different consoles. I know several people who bought PS3 for GT5 a long time ago and they are still waiting...

If this really was the case multi platform games would run much smoother on the ps3. By your analogy, two cars. One being a F1 ferrari(ps3) and the other a ford(x360). Since they are making games for "lowest denominator" they both have to drive 60mph.
Now can you tell me why the ferrari should have any trouble keeping up at 60mph?

You just have to think of new ideas of how to use the hardware. How to use the systems strengths and weaknesses. This will yield better performance and better looking games.

Full version av GT5 will probably be better if they get damage. But the same goes from forza. They complained about forza not having c0ckpit view and clutch. But both of these features will be in forza 3.

The physics engine runs at 360 "cycles" (or whatevery you want to call it) per second. The picture is rendered at 60 fps.

I'm not sure the bad quality is just because of low bit rate, it may be more complicated.
Trust me, the quality of those old projectors are great, there is a reason why people still use those old projectors:)
But they are HUGE, and new small projectors are catching up fast.
I would think 2500*2000 looked better than hdmi does running 1080p
2500*2000 = 5 000 000 pixels
1920*1080 = 2 073 000 pixels
1280*720 = 921 000
That is a huge difference, if component did not improve over 720p I do not think they would support any higher resolutions. It would just be a waste.

Some TV's are not have optimized for 1080p over component hence not great quality.
If you tried this with your PS3 its understandable because the PS3 component video is not very good. 1080p over component on 360 looks the same as 1080p over hdmi on the ps3. The reason for hdmi is not better quality but DRM.

All numbers except shipped numbers are estimates. Almost all real world math is basted on estimated/simplified information in one form or an other.
They get numbers from many retailers and estimate from those numbers. Same as NPD does.
These are the fastest ESTIMATES we can get on sales numbers. They are bound to not always be 100% correct, but often very close to the NPD numbers witch are supposed to be better but not published so often.
I do not really see the problem posting these numbers. We all know they are ESTIMATES and usually tell who is selling better. (If you need that kind of thing to continuously justify your own console)
This kind of proves that there are mostly ps3 fans here :)
On an other note vgchartz has been pretty close to NPD numbers... So who can we trust with sales numbers? The big company's usually only release shipped numbers.

I find the multi player good but I'm not sure it tops cod 4. Feels like infinity ward did all the work and treyarch just made cod 4 into a ww2 shooter with less polish. But still its a good game.
For that whole setup the steering wheel guy said it would cost about 10-15k. I think it might just be worth it :P
Spend 10k less on your regular car and drive a simulator with all the greatest cars at home.
You could probably use it when a new console comes out.
