That 2TB drive is adding most of the cost to the PS5 Pro. A good nvme pcie 4.0 is not cheap, especially ones from Samsung or Sk Hynix. If the pro had a 1TB drive I think you it could have been $599 USD.

If the PS5 was more powerful at launch in 2020 and cost between $600-$700 USD, and was only one model with a disc. drive it would have been worth it until the PS6 in 2027 as a possible launch, we don't need anymore stop gap consoles. Not to trade in your PS5 lose money on it and spend another $350 or more for the Pro. Spending $700 now would not be wise. I'm sure the price will drop sometime next year, I say wait. Maybe Sony will drop the price at launch because of all the backlash.
