Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and literally every other big retailer that sells games.

I'm not saying the Portal doesn't have a use, but a fridge and a toaster literally have an everyday use that anyone can make use of. Why wouldn't people buy that if they like the look of it and it suits their needs?

If Sony made a George Foreman style grill that looked like the OG fat PS3 I would buy it in a heartbeat. Why? Because the PS3 was awesome and I use indoor grills.

Like what point are you even making? You're comparing products w...

They're not crumbling specifically because they acquired so many studios. It's because they built everything up based on a $2B investment and didn't have any plan in place to pivot if the deal fell through, which it did. They were reckless and stupid.

On the one hand Bend is a very talented studio. Even if I didn't enjoy Days Gone, I adored Golden Abyss. On the other hand, their new game is an "open world multiplayer experience". Sounds a lot like live service so I'm already lowering my expectations. Hopefully it's good though.

It's for mobile and PC, not PS5 (at least at launch). It's most likely F2P with heavy monetization.

Naughty Dog has more than one team though. One team launched a game 3.5 years ago, and cancelled the MP project they'd broken off from that game. What have the rest of the devs been working on? How does ND have nothing new to show 3 years into a new gen? Not even a title?

I think at this point it would be really difficult to make a new AAA fighting game IP. Especially if it's going to be embraced by the FGC and be featured at Evo. It would have to set itself apart with unique hooks and mechanics, while having super tight controls, but still enough of a traditional feel to keep fans of the genre happy. That's easier said than done when the market is already saturated.

The Shadowrun RPGs from Harebrained Schemes were great, but that IP is just begging for a massive, Cyberpunk 2077-style game. Open world action RPG epic with a healthy dose of immersive sim goodness.

Wtf, why is it called a gameplay chart then? If they're going week by week I guess it's more about popularity over time, but that's still not specifically about gameplay.

"it gauges how many people played at least 1sec of any given game"

They don't specify the criteria. However, it's a "gameplay" chart not a total players chart. So I don't think this is just about number of people playing.

I've already seen quite a few of these years ago. But still, it's a shame it was cancelled. Hopefully one day we'll get another globetrotting spy thriller. Maybe MS can get the rights to Alpha Protocol from Sega, or have Obsidian make a spiritual successor.

Leatherface at number 10, but the twins from Atomic Heart aren't even on the list? What?

So stop covering them.

As others have said this wasn't a Kickstarter. But still, I rarely support Kickstarter anymore. Of the many projects I've backed none release on time, many take multiple extra years or never release, and what does release is rarely ever good or what was promised. Kickstarter had real potential but the platform offers zero protection for the backers, so it's become a paradise for scams and over promising but under delivering.

Sunset Overdrive starts at the beginning of the outbreak. A prequel would literally not be Sunset Overdrive. It also wouldn't work that way. MS owns the rights to the next 2 games in the franchise, a prequel would be included in that.

That's a weird situation. Insomniac/Sony own the IP, but MS own the publishing rights to the next 2 sequels, any DLC, and any remasters. I don't see Sony allowing Insomniac to develop 2 Xbox exclusives, even if MS were to fund them. The franchise is as good as dead.

Yeah this is just terrible. No dev deserves this. It really is devastating. I do hope more devs and publishers start taking cyber security more seriously now. Leaks just keep getting worse and worse.

He can still be sued and held responsible. Leaving the company doesn't protect him from that.

Arkane Austin had nothing to do with Dishonored. They made Prey and Redfall. Arkane Austin losing staff has no effect on Lyon, which is the actual Arkane dev everyone knows.
