Yes there are other games that mix 1st and 3rd person. I said there are others.

Unique? No, but the way they blend 1st and 3rd person isn't very commonplace. Especially in this type of adventure game. They aren't the only ones that have done it, but they do it better than anyone else. They were already perfecting this style way back when they were at Starbreeze making the Riddick games.

No, they are not perfect. Some of them are relatively close in some spots, but they aren't 1:1. Even if you look at the stuff Byofrog has been posting (which is what everyone references), they are not 1:1. They look really similar at first because of how Byofrog lined up the models. But if you look at the wireframe images they posted underneath it proves just how different the models are. Not a single part lines up.

Maybe try reading the article first.

It's so stupid. People keep claiming that they "stole" Pokemon designs, even going as far as claiming they used the same meshes. It's all been proven false. They took inspiration from Pokemon designs, obviously, but they didn't steal anything.

Not necessarily. I don't think PlayStation allows early access games, do they?

But as Lightning pointed out essentially all timed-exclusives are paid for, whether it's MS, PS, Nintendo, or Epic.

Yeah that's not ok. I don't need to see an ad for the Developer_Direct when I turn on my console. Just send me a message from the Xbox account like you normally do.

"hope bethesda ditch this crappy engine for the next elder scrolls"

If they do that the game would need a lot more dev time or wouldn't have nearly the amount of content and quests. People don't seem to understand why Bethesda uses that engine, it's what makes their style of games even possible.

I had watched a YT video a year or two ago that explained it. He went into each engine and programmed the same quest. It took just 6 minutes...

No I don't think the 3DS sold bad. The Switch launched at $300. The 3DS failed at $250 before they drastically cut the price less than 6 months after launch. If handheld gamers weren't willing to spend $250 I figured at $300 they wouldn't sell as many. But because it's a hybrid and would appeal to console gamers as well I thought 65 million seemed pretty reasonable coming off the failure of the Wii U.

136 million Switch sales. That's crazy. I remember predicting the Switch would be a success and sell around 65 million. They've more than doubled that now. I'm excited to see what they're doing with the Switch 2.

@Eonjay
Ok, so it's sold half as many now. Considering it had 20 years worth of hype, and was literally the most hyped game when it launched, you'd think it would have sold a lot more than that. Square Enix spent truckloads of money marketing that game. It got outsold by Persona 5 and barely beat Dragon Quest XI, two franchises that are traditionally far less popular than FF globally. FF7R wasn't a failure by any means but it wasn't the powerhouse (sales-wise) that so...

If you're concerned about the lack of physical copies then don't buy it. It's that simple. Wait for a physical release. Any game that's being published by a major publisher should have a physical release.

There's nothing wrong with a game being cinematic. I just don't want all of my games to be cinematic-heavy. I want a wider variety of experiences.

101d ago 3 agree5 disagreeView comment

I really like the game, I just think it needs some QoL updates to really make the game shine. There's just a bunch of little annoyances that hold the experience back for me. But I'd poured over 300 hours into it before deciding to wait for patches, and I still felt like I was just scratching the surface. There's so much content in the game, and there's a ton of potential to build on with updates and expansions.

"To think some were touring this as a GoW competitor."

Literally no one said that. Hellblade is nothing remotely like GoW. It was never marketed that way either.

Remake sold less than half as many units as the original, so it's not a guarantee. I do hope it's very successful though, then maybe we can get remakes of 6, 8, and 9.

Those games were both awesome. I can't believe the Dark Athena bundle hasn't been remastered. It really needs it, on PC you can't have AA if you turn on ambient occlusion.

Why? Then you'd just be complaining that it looks like an Uncharted clone. They did the smart thing and did something different.
