MS is free to do whatever they want with their console, just as I am free to do whatever I want with my money.

I don't like the idea of Always On, and while there are some devices that need to be always on, I don't think a gaming console should be one of them. Last I checked wasting electricity was still bad for the environment.

If these rumor proves to be true it will be a shame, because although I like my 360 I will not buy MS's next console.

EA has great developers under their thumbs, but EA is foolish, because they are damaging these developer's good names. How many times can one company piss of a developer's fanbase, causing mass online protests and bad press, before they are ready to stop patting themselves on the backs and admit that they have screwed up? EA needs to start thinking more about making good bug free games, and less about squeezing every penny they can from a gamers wallet.

At this point ...

As long as they don't jump on the "always on/online only" bandwagon, and as long as they don't ban used games I am fine with them leaving BC out. Of course, I would much rather have BC, but I can live without. These days I just want to a good reliable console with no-nonsense attached, and lots of good games to chose from.

EA doesn't really care about gamers, they only care about profits. While some people are okay with that, the fact that EA keeps getting voted worst company just show that MANY people are not okay with it.

Of course we have the argument "don't like, don't buy" but the problem with that is what to do when you love a developer who has had the bad fortune to fall into EA's greedy little hands. It is a hard call.

This is interesting, the poll of the day at GamFAQs is:

Would you buy a game console that required an ''Always-On'' Internet connection?

Over 48% said: No, I would refuse to buy any system with that requirement.

Another 25% said: Probably not, unless it was priced very low to make up for it.

Since we know that the next Xbox will not be priced very low those are some scary numbers.

Here is a li...

If they did remake FF7, they would probably just screw it up.

I agree, sadly the people in power in our government have all accepted bribes (aka campaign donations) by the same companies who are taking advantage of their employees, so unless someone grows a conscience I don't suspect things will change anytime soon.

The only thing we can do is avoid using the services of companies who are the worst offenders, and sometimes that is downright difficult to do.

Yep, I also think we need a salary Cap for CEOs.

In other news the CEO of Walmart makes more in 1 hour then many of his employees make in 1 year.

That is what America has become, a place where companies claim that they cannot afford to give raises, and they cannot afford to hire enough workers, while their CEOs and Executives take home millions in pay, and more in bonuses. Deals with the devil I suppose, just hope they pay for it in the end.

Now you see why EAs games need lots of DLC and microtransactions. Gamers need to pay this guys over inflated salary. I am sorry, but 'NOBODY' deserves such a high salary. This is a prime example of what is really wrong in the world.

Wake me when the CEO of GameStop has a comment.

I have to say that I find the whole shift code thing to be a bit of a pain in the ass. It would be better if the darn things didn't expire (or at least didn't expire quickly), that why if you go for a few weeks and don't play you will still be able to use the codes when you do find some time to play a few hours of Borderlands. Honestly the whole thing feels like work to me, and games are supposed to be about playing.

Perhaps games need to start adding disclaimers to their packaging that state 'This game is not complete and will require a minimum of $XX worth of DLC if you want to own the full version'. Silly perhaps, but at least it will let the gamer know exactly what they are buying into. There are certainly some games I would never have purchased had I know what all the DLC would cost in advance.

And this is another game that I won't be buying.

LMAO - I would not be surprised one bit if this really is what they are making.

BioWare needs to find a way to make good games happen even while living under EA's umbrella of greed. I don't envy them, but that is what they get paid to do, so I don't feel sorry for them. It is kinda their job, after all.

@rpd123

You said: "I was upset about the ending too. I wasn't so upset that I took to the internet and demanded a new ending. You know why? Because it's a god damn video game."

And you said: "They care about fans, fans are just whiny, ungrateful b**ches."

And I am curious, since 'it is only a god damn video game' why do you waste your time 'taking to the internet' on a video game website no less, an...

It makes sense for ME4 to be next gen, but what does everyone think of DA3 being next gen?

Personally, I suspect it would be a bad move on BioWare's part, since they need DA3 to be a hit in order to regain the fan trust that they lost over the past few years. And I think that DA3 would sale better on current gen., since I can't see DA3 being much of a system seller. But maybe being on the new console would help them, since they would have less competition. What doe...

@vickers

Perhaps today they are shortcut unlocks, but how long do you think it will take for them to expand it into locking out content that really should be included in the game?

Don't think it won't happen, just like DLC went from being 'just a little something extra that wouldn't be missed if you didn't buy it' to 'holding back missions and characters to sale it as DLC' so might microtransactions evolve into paying real mon...

If I wanted to deal with microtransactions I wouldn't bother paying $60 for a game, I would simply go the free to play route. If microtransactions are the wave of the future for games I will simply stop buying new games.

4463d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

We might only pay $60 for the vanilla game, but how much will we be paying for DLC next gen? I can't seem to shake the feeling that DLC and microtransactions are the area where we are going to feel the pain, but really hope that I am wrong.

I don't hate Mass Effect, or BioWare, I just hate the road that EA is leading BioWare down, and I wonder if I should bother looking forward to their future games or not.
