This gen I bought a 360, PS3, and Wii (PSP and DS too). Last gen I bought Xbox, Dreamcast, PS2 and Gamecube. So no fanboy here, I judge a system on its own merits, and sadly today I saw nothing, not one single thing, to make me want to buy Xbox One.
From what we saw today, Xbox One is everything I don't want/need in a gaming console. Not really surprised, because MS has been heading down this path since the invent of Kinect.

Speaking only for myself, MS will need to show me that their new gaming console is not just a gimmicky toy. Show me the games or lose me.
I think that the fear for many gamers is that it WILL be the main focus, followed by a secondary focus of making Xbox a cable box replacement.
I am willing to wait to see what they have up their sleeves, but if the announcement is all about Kinect, and other non-gaming applications you can count me unimpressed.
I don't own a Wii U, but I can understand why Wii U owners would feel annoyed about this. If EA made this same choice about the PS4 or new Xbox I can only imagine how Sony and MS fans would react and I suspect it would not be very pretty.
EA is slowly alienating more and more gamers with every decision they make. If they continue down this road I suspect it will only end badly for them.

It wasn't that male Shepard wasn't gay in the other games, it was simply that he didn't have a choice. And yes not having a choice was exactly the problem with the earlier games.

You say you don't need to be socially indoctrinated by politically vested interests every time you look up. But the problem is that you already have been. Had you grown up in a world where homophobia did not exist, you would not feel uncomfortable with gay people as an adult, and the idea of a gay Commander Shepard would feel odd to you.

This is interesting. Yukuza is a great series, but I would be surprised if this makes it out of Japan, which is a shame.
I agree, fake girl gamers give all female gamers a bad name, and it is really a shame. Real female gamers should not have to hide quietly in the background, and pose as men on gaming sites, simply because they do not want to be lumped in with the the grrl gamers.
I am torn between VIII and X, but VIII wins because Triple Triad was so much better than blitzball.
I will say that I am would be willing to give EA the benefit of the doubt, however it will take more then this to renew my faith. The online pass is just one thing in EA's long list of sins, how about we talk about:
1)Microtransactions in games that are not free to play.
2)Pulling content out of games to be sold as Day 1 DLC.
3)Buggy games that never get patched.
4)Forcing multi-player components into single player series,at the expense of the sin...
I might agree with you if the title of this article was not 'The New Mass Effect Lead'... how does another Mass Effect game equal new idea or new IP? This is just BioWare milking the Mass Effect name.
I thought Kai looked cool, but the moment he opened his mouth that went out the window. Plus Shepard killed him, so unless it is a prequel or a Kai clone he shouldn't be an option.
I can't help but think it really is a shame that they put such a final ending on ME3. There really was no good reason to kill off Shepard, and some of his best crew-mates the way they did. They went the shock and sadness route and backed themselves in a corner. Now they are looking for a way to salvage the series...

I have not bought a WiiU because the controller turns me off, but I still think this is a bit mean. Even if Nintendo no longer caters to me, I will always have a soft spot for them, since they were the console that got me into gaming in the first place about 25 years ago. First gaming addiction the original: Legend of Zelda... damn I really am getting old.
