Yep, and all FF games take forever and get delayed a number of times, this is nothing new or surprising.
Although you say that we all know that the reason everyone is so upset is because they want to play the game, and come release day everyone is going to be lined up to get this game, so I would say their fanbase is doing just fine... a little angry, and a bit threatening, but they are not going anywhere from what I can see. They can start to worry when people stop being upset. : )
Well, knowing Nintendo they will just add a couple of camera's to the Wii and pretend it's a new console. ; )
Seriously though, I hope they all stay around for a couple more years, because I am really not ready to invest in another new system and I am rather fond of all of my consoles.
I kinda have an issue with the lack of backwards compatibility, and the fact that it is supposed to be okay, because we can download the games now... So they want me to re-buy the games I already own? No thanks, I'll keep my current DS.
I disagreed too, because: Why do fanboys have to spin every friggen thing. Yes yes, we know they loves money, but who doesn't? If you don't want to pay for DLC don't buy it, it is as simple as that. Think about it... if someone is willing to pay you for something, are you just going to hand it out for free. It might suck, but that's how the world works.
I think it is less about people being too cheap to buy a PS2, and more about people not wanting to deal with having to haul out their old PS2 to play PS2 games.
I would happily take a remake, as long as it is on PS3 and not the DS, but what I really want is a true honest to god follow up game. Not another weak attempts to milk the series... Pennywise: With all due respect, you shouldn't buy into review hype so much. We need to remember reviews are just someone's opinion, and should not be taken as fact. A few of those games you mentioned are really fun, and I hate the fact that they sold poorly due to review hype. It makes me concerned that JRPGs will just die out, and that would really suck.
What concerns me is the fact that I just bought Suikoden on DS, and I just reserved Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor for the DS. Why aren't versions these games coming out for the PS3, considering the PS2's success with JRPGs? Really what happened with those relationships? I would love to see SquareEnix release an exclusive JRPG on the PS3, just to see how it will sale. If it sold well, maybe that would keep the door open to JRPGs. This is so true. What bothers me most about fanboys is that most of them only own 1 system, and yet they are so certain it is the best. How the hell do they even know this if they only own the 1? It's like hating a food you've never tasted, or a person you've never met. It's so close minded.
It also bothers me if you own multiple systems they go all freaky on you. Because nobody should be allowed to own more then one system, so you are either a traitor or a liar.

Speak for yourself, don't speak for everyone: I've played both and PSN may have come a long way, and it is a nice service, but LIVE is still better, for all the reasons that iDystopia mentioned. And $50 dollars is cheap for what you get.
