I don't see much truth in this, especially with confirmation that Switch FIFA is based on last-gen. Lots of young gamers still have PS3/360 and so there's a market there for FIFA.
There was an Activision collection on PS2 and PSP. It's quite hard to find nowadays. At least in UK.
Stretching for what? It's an article looking at consoles that had fewer than five games at launch, and the consequences thereof. The opening paragraph even damns the Switch's line-up
They couldn't get away with charging full price for a single collection and so made two budget priced collections.
It isn't intended to make the Switch line-up look good. It's just a list of consoles that launched with only a few games. The intro clarifies this.

It's to gain shelf space. Can you imagine if the boxes were barely bigger than the cart?
These collections launched in the US months ago. They aren't too hot - lots of dull sports games and stuff like Tic Tac Toe and Chess. Very few stone cold clsssics. Would have rather had one excellent collection than two bulked up with a load of filler.
That was from Activision, not Atari.

It's a retro feature looking at PS2 budget games that didn't blow. There is no question .
