I think based on my calculations and *highly* scientific studies (I assure you.. no, really..) that I've come to the conclusion neither the PS3 nor the 360 are going anywhere until they decide to come out with a new console. Even then, they may both stick around for a couple of years at least. The install base is just too large for them both and both of these gigantic corporations have invested heavily into both platforms.
Despite how much one sells over the other this day, l...
MS does make a profit through Bluray through the codecs being used. Not to rain on your jet powered parade there, but eh..
Explain to me how it's "bad news" for the PS3 please. Is it "bad news" for the 360 which is now trying to be a casual console when the Wii outsells it by the margin it has?
Congrats for MS. Has no bearing on the long future for the PS3 and if you *do* think the Wii selling so much more than the 360 means trouble for MS, then hit "Disagree" over there ---> and down a bit vvvv.
When your heralded corporation sells more units of their product you support, you get awards and medals in the mail for rooting them on on the internet.
I'm wondering when Sony is going to finally announce how many PS2's they've sold compared to the XBOX 1.
If you don't own an HDTV over say.. 40", you may not "get" why people love Bluray. Have you ever visited YouTube.com and tried to enlarge a video to fullscreen and it looked like cold turds? That's about the gist of what happens to DVD's when shown on large HDTV's.
Here's a good comparison link:

Countdown to Don Reisinger writing "Why Bluray and Sony and the PS3 are failing" in 5..4..3....
Only the 360 version is on 6 DVD's and the Wii version is a point-and-click adventure game.
Not with the increasingly popular bandwidth caps it won't. Consumers will also never give up owning a physical medium.
Bluray is dead. Won't make it past Christmas. Time for Sony to fold up shop.
I'm being sarcastic of course here. Agree if you are also tired of hearing that tripe in the midst of BR doing fine for itself. Can't wait to hear the Dark Knight BR numbers.
One bit of bad news comes out from Sony's mouth and it's "All over for Sony!" type talk.. What in the hell? Where does this incessant near insisting the PS3 die come from? What pushes people to hate a console or a company so much? What an ignorant article.
And many others perhaps come with a Digital Copy of the movie you can transfer to the PSP, your computer, or whatnot.
$25 at Best Buy and yes, it's awesome.
360 owners say it's DOOMED! DOOOOOOMMMEED! So this article must be spun somehow. C'mon PoG or TheMART get to spinnin'!
Just filter out Don Reisinger's anti-Sony/Bluray/PS3 posts? It's nothing but troll bait carefully developed for nothing but traffic. Very little actual content.
Ok, yuck, and yuck.
The term "Exclusive" is the one that kills me.
For a PS3 owner, "exclusive" means you have to own a PS3 to play it.
For a 360 owner, "exclusive" means you can own a 360 or a PC.
I saw our friend TheMART on his site talking about Left4Dead being "exclusive" to the 360. Only it's not. It's also on the PC and I don't *have* to own a 360 to enjoy it. You *have* to own a PS3 to enjoy MGS, WipeoutHD, God of War 3, Gra...
Out right after Duke Nukem Forever..
Also, why is there so much hype for this game? Are we starving so much for goodness that the minimal amount that we know about the game makes our mouths salivate? There's hardly been anything announced or shown I thought?
I don't think it needs "saving" persay.. Sure, the 360 is outselling it by a wide margin, but the Wii is outselling them both. Does that mean the 360 needs saving as well from the mighty Wii sales? I'm trying to say, just because the 360 outsells the PS3, doesn't necessarily mean the PS3 is going to just fold and close up shop unless someone comes along to make some games for it. It's got games, it's got a large enough base now, it's got a future ahead of it and despite what the ...
Haha, it's not a MS product, it's free. So technically, you're right.
It's also due to the Cell processor which Sony invested HEAVILY in. But it was a good move as in the future they can simply add more cells and RAM and get major increases as the price of the Cell's go down. In theory, this means that the PS4 could play the PS3 games no problem as the architecture could be very similar.
But yeah. The investment in Cell and BR is the main reason the PS3 is a burden for Sony but they are doing good so far and costs will come down, allowing them t...
