With Sony building the CD-addon to SNES and the whole Nintendo fucking Sony over and Sony going FUCK THAT and releasing a console standalone instead of the intended 50/50 Nintendo/Sony console. Similar enough in my mind being that Sony was responsible for what they were going to aim for a strong add-on that still would've failed like N64's attempt aft...

Nintendo had failed all expectations via they thinking DS would sell, 3DS would sell, and Wii, none of them reached their predicted goals annually. They're over-estimating themselves, they had to slash 3DS's price because they thought at its pricepoint that it'd sell like hotcakes because they are 'Nintendo'....

It's a small golfing game, 100K is probably profitable from a designers point of view, I highly doubt it takes a lot of money to create a game like Hot Shots.
Not every 'sale' needs to be COD or Halo-sized for it to be successful or for people to be proud of.
As I recall, someone had taken pictures of PS3's original launch back in 2006, the picture here is the exact same, why no one is in line? Was because the person deliberately took a picture before anyone had lined up, before there was any kind of launch.
