Wow, I really don't understand why a single person has disagreed with you. Apparently there are more Mirror's Edge fanboys around here than I ever realized.
(someday N4G might let you delete mis-posts)
I bought this over the Steam holiday sale, I *think* I paid $7 for it then. Still a great deal though, really fun game.
I think OpenGL is actually better as far as hardware/performance ratio's go, but DX has a lot more support from M$ making it easier to develop games for.
@NathanExplosion
Are the console screens scaled up, or is the pc screen scaled down? I know you didn't take these captures yourself, but I wish they would leave screenshots in their native resolutions for true comparison. Based on image resolution they are scaling the PC shots down to console res, and loosing a lot of detail in the process.
Not many recent multi-player-centric FPS's have had good single player campaigns as of late. I see no real reason for this one to be any different:p Things won't change until consumers start voting with their wallets.
Steamguard is kind of awesome. All it does is send you an email with a code when an unrecognized IP logs into your account, and you must enter said code. It has nothing to do with games/DRM, its purely account protection, and I personally welcome it.
Correct. Steam is the popular distribution platform that most all PC gamers run, storing their game libraries and hosting awesome deals, while steamworks (which is coming to the ps3) is a a free development and publishing suite for developers to fully integrate steam features (matchmaking, voice com, steam cloud, etc) into their games. (In a nutshell)
It's the shield of anonymity, people wouldn't say a fraction of the things they do online to someone's face.
I won't necessarily disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure AAA refers to budget. I mean, there are lots of "AAA" games, where the quality is not there, but they still spent a ton of money on it.
Maybe something went over my head, but why was everyone cheering and hollering when he put the mallet on his back?
Well, I play a few games on PC with a controller, some are much better suited for it. And being as much a console port as this game is, I don't see a problem with using one here either :) I mean, they took out the overhead view...this is just a action rpg now. Button mash FTW.
Kinda looks like a L4D mmo rip-off. Have to wait and see if it opens up a bit more later on.
@Alpha's "IMO the most effective thing Sony can do is offer smaller HDD sizes because those tend to jack prices. Reintroducing a 40GB HDD is a good way to broaden the entry level for consumers"
You may want to go do a price check on hard drives.

Under $60 gets you a 500GB (ps3 compatible) hard drive. Now ima...
@BLACKBOIJONES
A lot of people around here (well, maybe not alot, but some) are not fanboys, give their honest opinions, AND still have all of (or have gained) their bubbles. Just something for you to reflect on.
Yeah, I was actually rather surprised at the un-impressiveness of the screens.
"Seems we've got some deckles." (decals)
Lol. Good review through :)
You should try out Half-Life (1, 2 and Episodes), just for starters.
Yeah, that would be theft. But what if someone had a device that let them make an exact replica of your car, and they left your original one untouched right where you had left it?
I'm really not trying to pick on you here, but...
Most people realize WoW is crap before spending the time required to get all those mounts...
