Ha ha, yeah. It was indeed most sucksome. I was only about 6 at the time, but still remember it being a massive pile of crap, and just stuck River Raid back in and played that!
I couldn't agree with you more. I still love playing that game on-line and am still discovering ways to use the focus and ex focus canceling. My only gripe is that it didn't include the parry system from 3rd Strike.

This article is ill conceived, poorly researched and has been written for the sake of it. Also, all the games are current gen and you are making it out like no other game before was ever hyped up to the same level. why no Rise of the Robots on the SNES, or ET on the Atari 2600?.

Hmm. I quite liked the look of it at first, but now I am not so sure. It kind of looks somewhat cheap with those grey rings around the controls. Also, £250 (which is roughly $400!) is nothing short of extortionate. If the PSP go is going to cost £250, there is no way the PS3slim will be £200 or less.

I haven't purchased any of the other COd games, and it looks like I will not start now. £55 RRP is fukin cheeky, and I shall wait until it is second hand. Thankfully, for those who said they are going to boycott it (and actually mean it), we have plenty of other games coming out around the same time. L4D 2 for me on the 360, and I'm sure my PS3 owning friends will be looking forward to MAG and Killzone 2 DLC.

I both agree and disagree with you. People who learn to play SF4 (not necessarily to the point of mastery, but to a high degree) shouldn't have too much of a problem with hadoken slags. However, I do think parrying should return (though I have already has this argument with you as above).

True. the first time I managed to parry Chuni-Li's super felt enormously satisfying. Of course, I can only do it in training and find it difficult to do so in the heat of battle! But I do think the parry system is far superior to the focus counter. The problem with the focus counter is that you can't use it against characters such as Ken and Akuma as most of their special moves hits more than once, and you end u getting smashed.

I think it should include the parry system from 3rd strike. I honestly thought that that was as important as the invention of combos, and is exclusion form SF4 was a massive surprise for me.
So let me get this straight, two WWE games and Mortal Combat are on the list, but no mention of Virtual On, Rival Schools, any of the Darkstalkers series, Street Fighter Alpha, Ranma 1/2, Samurai Showdown or King of Fighters '98?

make me buy a PS3. I love my 360, and haven't really seen much so far on the PS3 to make me want to get one but, wow. If they pull this off and it works then I will have no choice. The graphics are pretty good, but at the end of the day, I love games and great gameplay and gameplay is what is most important for me. I really hope this works!

Bollocks to the DLC. When am I going to be able to purchase a control pad so I can actually play the damn game on my xbox? I have emailed Madcatz twice now, and I have still yet to receive a reply! I know that they have re-released some joysticks, but I much prefer using a decent pad.
I really hope that it isn't a fake. It seems like a lot of effort for something completely fictitious. Let's hope it is Orange box 2, with HL2 Ep 3, Portal 2, Black Mesa (though I know it won't be as it is a fan mod), Counter Strike for xbox 360 and, perhaps a new IP? Oh man, I am salavating at the prospect..
I think survival mode is all four of you in one house and you get an infinite wave of zombies (and hopefully special infected) and you have to stay alive for as long as possible. There are a few screen shots on the web, it has a big timer at the top of the screen. Also, I didn't recognize what building it was, so I get the feeling that it might be a new mini-level. Fingers crossed!
Am I the only one who is mildly disappointed that there are no completely new campaigns? I'm happy that the other two maps will also be included in the vs mode, but I am feeling a slight pang of disappointment as we don't really have much new (apart from the survivor mode). Couldn't have hurt to include a couple of new weapons either..
Still, I am very happy with this news. L4D is a fantastic game in my opinion.
I will be buying SF4 as soon as I am able to get a Fightpad for it. It is simply too frustrating trying to perform a dragon punch with the regular 360 pad. The pad is better than the dual shock for a lot of games, but certainly not for fighting games. It is a bit annoying that Madcatz did not produce enough, and there is no way I will contemplate spending £70-80 for one on ebay.
Can't wait to use the cricket bat! Also, the sound of the silenced uzi sounds wicked. Really looking forward to this, especially as I am not buying MW2.
