Hung Well... hehehe... Enormous Genitals!
I'll keep an eye on other articles but this is the first one I have read that doesn't feel that the we slinging mechanic isn't every bit as satisfying and complete and Kratos' ax was in GoW.
@PFFT
You are confusing WOW with surprise. I guess they could have taken the Crackdown 3 route and show me a game for four years straight and still show me absolutely nothing. Plus what they didn't show spoke just as loudly as what they did show. You think their studios aren't working on new things? Nope, they road mapped the rest of this gen and are now prepping next.
So amazed how a person can view that conference as awful. Even I wasn't calling MS' conference awful and the article even said they did great. Man... I just feel too sad for you to downvote you.
If you mean overall flow and presentation, then sure. But it was classic Microsoft of wow you with numbers rather than content.
@BiggerBoss
And I can't believe it has taken them this long to put a studio in Santa Monica. Their E3 was perfect, just 4 years too late.
Lol... honestly; just Tunic. And that is a launch exclusive, I think.
Lol. Well played.
Honestly, they both look to fail with me. I know I am in the minority, but the naval combat of AC was the worst part of that game to me. The most fun was the sailing from island to island which you can not do in Skull and Bones. And while that is the point in Sea of Thieves, there is just too little content ATM to make it worth it or fun.
I feel they, like Ready At Dawn, just weren't ready to take on a game like this.
@Jinjer
But surprising isn't winning. Neither is buying up all the rights to reveal third parties first. The article says it best... I love me some Golden Corral every now and again but it is never going to be better than Ruth's Chris Steak House.
Xbox had a great reveal but beating Sony? No.
What, exactly, did Xbox surprise anyone on? A teaser for Halo? Or are you that hyped for Tony Hawk Lite? :P
Phil? Is that you?? :P
Too bad. The game looked like it had promise. Really not liking the mobile game influx on consoles. Stick to Switch!
Disagree about Xbox beating Sony. Heck, I don't even know if they beat Nintendo. The biggest pulls from Xbox were the studios and that third parties still trust them to reveal and announce their games. But other than that, it was a ton of third parties and "launch exclusives".
Good write up. Sorry, I tried to approve but I have been restricted.
I don't think it was that they were [strong]relying[/strong], just that it is what they needed to happen to "win".
Xbox nailed it!!! And I still walked away wanting one or two of their exclusives. And even though Sony showed 1/5th the games Xbox did, I wanted all but one or two.
This is the game that everyone plays only when they have a lull in games they actually want, right?
AQUALUNG!!! heeheehee...
