Uggg, after 2 years and they are launching with just 8 real courses and 12 golfers? A whole new high tech engine, yet they somehow manage made it look identical to the old engine? What a disappointment. Can't say I'm surprised, haven't enjoyed this series since it stagnated back in 2004. Looks like they blew their whole load on Rory and didn't have any left for the game...
I agree with most of the comments: these are minor bugs, and CD Projekt Red have treated fans amazingly well. To have this many patches to fix minor annoyances, as well as tons of free DLC that they could easily have charged for is very refreshing and has made them my new favorite devs (ok tied with Naughty Dog).
I also agree with Takwin that this is in my opinion the best game I have ever played. That says a lot coming from someone who has grown up along side the video g...
Don't be such a yackass...
Yeah, the more I see of this the less pumped I am. I was really debating between this and the Witcher 3, but these videos have really sealed the deal in favor of TW3. The 60 FPS is nice, but the visuals are really hit or miss. Some screens in the rain look really good, but most times and weathers look pretty bland. Cars look pretty decent, but environments are really bad. I've seen entire grandstands and skyscrapers "pop in" to view as drivers turn a corner. Unacceptable. ...
I realize this will get a ton of downvotes, but what is the draw with this game? I'm not being a dick, I'm actually curious, because everyone seems so excited for it, but I don't see a single aspect that is impressing me. Maybe I'm missing something?
To me it just looks like a slow paced hack n slash with identical enemies with little no AI, taking place in permanently dark, dreary incredibly linear environment. The visuals and sounds are decent and atmosph...
I'm really trying to get into this game, but I'm having a hard time. After all the game of the year awards, I figured it would be a cant miss, but I find it hard to overlook a lot of the issues.
The graphics and audio are both pretty decent but nothing special. I do like the variety of the environments though. The animations for faces just look dead and dull though, and I'm not really seeing the love for the characters either. Maybe if you played the earlier...
Wow, really hope this is last gen gameplay. Seeing enemy bodies disappear in front of your eyes 5 seconds after killing them is horrible if this is PS4/Xbone footage. That is the kind of crap that was supposed to end LAST generation...
Game looks good no doubt, but I don't get all the gushing over the visuals. It looks like a slightly improved version of a current gen game, which is what it is. It doesn't look bad by any means, but those saying it looks photo real need to get their eyes checked.
Don't get me wrong, The Show's gameplay is great, but I have bought 3 Show titles this gen, and although the gameplay is always great, I don't feel an urge to buy another until they actually ma...
No idea why they are doing this other than to try to tap into the crowd that is finally getting burned out with WOW. The ES series is so deep in SP that multiplayer with a bunch of idiots would just ruin it. I put in almost 300 hour on the PS3 version of Skyrim before just recently buying a PC that could play the game maxed with mods.
Hard to believe I could be so into a game that I would be excited to pay $40 again and start all over, but seeing this thing fully modded i...
So the big difference between current gen and next gen versions is that I can be "connected"? Woo-hoo! Finally, my virtual friends can know how many arbitrary virtual goals I have achieved in a virtual world!
Am I the only one who occasionally plays games to escape the real world and most of the annoying people in it??? I can understand co-op and competitive games, but does EVERYTHING have to be "connected" nowadays?
Meh, I was really expecting some improvements over their last 3 games. Their physics engine was ok last gen, but now it looks really dated. The cars are still indestructible boxes with a few parts that fall off.
I was really hoping they would make a next gen game that utilized something like BeamNG's CryEngine 3 soft body physics. Check out some videos and see how dated it makes this video look: ht...
I also stopped playing the game after around 15 hours. When the game was good it was great (unscripted, dynamic interactions and taking over camps), but when it was bad it was really bad. In addition to the unskippable cut scenes, Here is what ruined it for me:
-The horrible HUD(Giant flashing symbols, outlines, and prompts everywhere, WTF?)
-The skills were ridiculous and just padded the playtime (why is cooking a grenade and sliding a skill? Why not just let me t...
Mike,
The reason that no one else makes games is because 2k owned the exclusive rights for baseball games, just like Madden does for football. For baseball though, it doesn't cover first party devs, so Sony and Microsoft could each develop their own baseball game, of which Sony does.
2ks exclusivity ended this year, and everyone just assumed they would extend it, hence the reason why no one else made a hardball game. I am hoping that with the launch of new con...
I agree, it is by far the best baseball game out there. But where would you rank the other baseball games out there? Can you name them? That is because there are NONE. The Show is literally the only hardball game coming out this year.
Don't get me wrong, I think The Show craps all over 2k baseball, but they were the only other player in town. I know i will get a ton of disagrees for saying anything bad about the show or a Sony product, but I used to be a huge fan o...
Yeah, now that 2k baseball is gone there is 0 competition for the Show. Not that 2k baseball has been good in years, but after renting a few "the Shows" in the past few years, I haven't found any worthy of buying since 09. Like Madden, they have gotten lazy and done next to nothing other than roster updates.
I REALLY hope they are working on a brand new engine and launching a completely revamped game with next gen consoles, or I may never buy another one of ...
Don't be so sure that both companies will go that route. I think this is the main reason neither Sony nor Microsoft wants to be the first to announce their new console. If Sony announces first and talks about no resales of games, all Microsoft has to do is say the new Xbox won't have that ridiculous feature and WHAM, Microsoft instantly gets 90% of the market share.
Thus the reason neither company wants to be the first to make an announcement.....
Actually it will be the exact opposite of what you stated. ONLY the AAA titles will sell, because if people can't buy used games, they will ONLY opt to buy the sure fire hits and sequels. That means less risks, more sequels, and most of the small devs going out of business.
Take myself for example: I roughly spend $360 a year on gaming now, and buy 4 new games at $60 and 10 used games (that you probably weren't sure about) for around $12 each off Craiglist etc. T...
The only way I could ever get on board with this idea, would be if they lowered the cost of a new title to 1/2 the prior price. If a new game was $30 instead of $60 maybe.
What the idiot developers who cry about lost sales from used games dont realize, is that LESS people will buy new games, if they can never rent or buy used. They will lose millions of sales from Gamefly, Redbox, and other rentals, since single play only games pretty much eliminate rentals. Also, if eve...
I still can't believe how much love FC3 is getting. I just finished the game on PC, and it was a fun game at times, but nowhere near goty material. So many performance issues, bugs, and just overall terrible design decisions. It just felt like a game with insane potential that was rushed out partially finished. Not sure how it got so many perfect scores across the board.....
Uggh, that's pretty bad that it needed a downgrade from the E3 graphics. Those visuals looked like a decent looking last gen game to be honest.
The game will still be amazing no doubt, but it is getting to the point where Bethesda are resting on their IP names alone to sell, rather than keep up with industry standards in technology. Their "Creation engine" aka Gamebryo is what like 15 years old now? Time to pay a couple bucks for a decent engine guys (I'...
