Yeah, except for the fact that I've never put a disc in my 360 that it couldn't read, including lots of movie & game rentals as well as used games. But I guess it's "huge" for Sony if everyone believes it because they've been told.
It's flogging a dead horse at this point, as I've already bought a 360 and could care less about the PS3 at any point in the near future. They have failed to convince me that I need to play this game for any reason. All they talk about is the graphics, I have yet to hear a single thing about gameplay or anything like that (of course I haven't been looking, but even so I have heard much about the graphics, which means they are pushing that much more). I don't really see any reason to play this over any other fps out there.
I want to see how well the PS3 reads scratched blu-ray discs. This would be the true test, as these are the formats each drive is made to play (the DVD drive in the 360 is made for DVD's, and the blu-ray drive is made for those). Of course a newer technology will be able to do better with older ones, but is it really worth even considering spending $200 just because you're a klutz and scratch your DVD's up? Not really.
I guess people who buy a PS3 might need this feature, thoug...
Motorstorm really isn't very good at all from what I played at the demo booth in bestbuy. the framerate is choppy whenever more than 4 trucks are on screen (which is often since there are I think 16 in a race), and the graphics aren't even that impressive anyway. Not nearly is nice as those screenshots they put up a long time ago.
Just because something sells more doesn't mean it's better.
VHS won even though Betamax was generally better.
Minidisc was technically better than CD but it hardly got off the ground.
DVD-Audio is amazing but people don't buy it anymore.

Probably still won't buy a 360. But you know what? I don't really care. The only recent Japanese game I've liked was Katamari Damacy. I find the games Japanese developers produce to be mostly boring and repetitive, so I couldn't care less if they like the 360 or not.
