I completely disagree with you, but that's all beside the point. That's not what the article is about. He's not upset that gaming journalists are making that argument. He is upset that gaming journalists are trying to downplay the significance in the resolution discrepancies.

It's not so much a negative Microsoft article as it is a negative gaming journalism article. That you would get so defensive over him stating facts in no small way supports his assertion that the gaming media has created a ridiculous atmosphere where "unfair balance" is expected.

People should just stop paying attention to these reviewers. Why should I help them leverage their inflated sense of self worth for free products? That's really all it is. Speaking for myself, if there's a game I am interested in, but am on the fence about, I just read customer reviews.

I think you're forgetting a few things. For starters PS3 had the cell processors. It wasn't a cut and dry difference like with PS4 and Xbox 720. This is why you see games like TLOU that aren't matched by anything on 360. More to the point though, no I don't expect them to just broadcast how the PS4 is stronger, but at the same time don't try to B.S. and deceive the fanbase about it. Maybe because those "Sony fanboys" were the reason for the truth coming to light. As usual the "people that are actually buying the console" should be thanking the "fanboys." That's not likely to happen though, given that they were still being called "fanboys" and "trolls" by MS customers even after doing those customers the service of getting MS to go back on its ridiculous plans for the Xbone.
If your prayer is not that the console you pay $100 more for can at least keep up with (really it should outperform) the PS4, but that the Xbox will be such a crappy value that a bunch of childish bigots that make up the Xbox community will switch consoles...
