I'd be more worried about Sony if anything. Selling first party, selling buildings, what's next they're going to sell off individual humans? I'd think they'd be the ones to go third party first out of the big three.
It seems Sega was in the hole way before the Dreamcast. To say Nintendo will go third party especially coming hot off of Wii, DS, and 3DS is just absurd.

Nintendo fans were the ones that made MegaMan, Castlevania, Contra, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, etc popular in the first place.

If Nintendo was to give the game reveals directly to the media they'd negatively spin it. With Nintendo Direct it cuts out the middle men, AKA IGN, GameSpot, etc.
3D Mario brings more than the average Uncharted, Killzone, or Infamous. Plus those franchises get new installments released more frequently.

3D Mario games usually release once a generation and even at that they're significantly different from previous installments. The upcoming 3D Mario is being made by Team Galaxy who made Galaxy 1 and 2 each got 98% gamerankings.
